1. The reason why Duracells are so good is the way they discharge their current, in fact this is the main difference with the different battery types which is why not so long ago manufacturers of say high quality radio mics ie Sennheisers recommended alkaline because they made the electronics perform better due to the way they give a higher quality discharge of current. If you're looking for a good deal on the Pro version of Duracells look up the Studiospares website at www.studiospares.com where you'll find some good prices.
 2.
Hi I got it from the States. I'm getting a fretless one made as well, that too is coming from the States. I'm saving about £500 (even after VAT etc).
What, even cheaper than the starting price of £2215 from Smart in the UK for a Q6 and they're usually as good as you can get on price after duty, freight and the dreaded VAT??
 3.
MB1. A nice blue Metalflake Bump!!!
A Modulus Flea = bass heaven!!
 4.
It'll take a year! Good luck Chris
But it will be hassle and worry free as any purchase from those nice guys at SMART, I just read your experience on your Flea, ouch! I hope it all comes together for you though as these are superb basses! Post us a pickie when your bass is ready!
 5.
Price varies with spec, specifically pre-amp, bridge and finish. I think Waldo's is pretty close to the top end price-wise. Fluctuating dollar doesn't really devalue the bass though, it's awesome and - as I know from experience - it would take you over a year to get that bass in that spec to the UK new. Cheers Chris
Spec always changes the price but £1805 is the biz with matching headstock, Bassline MM pickup, Aguilar OBP-1, Baddass II bridge, the lot! Same spec as the man himself. Me thinks I should order one....
 6.
A very, very nice bass. Burr myrtle facings on an ash body. Bartolini pickups and a John East preamp. The neck profile is great, and best of all it just doesn't move. The sounds available are amazing, deep and full, yet bright and clear, no deadspots and great sustain.
Hey, where did you manage to pick up a beauty like that in the UK? Must go there!!
 7.
Yo, how much are we talking for this bass? I really like it!
Yo, guys, a Flea spec bass isn't £2065, check out the SMART website and you'll see this spec bass is now £1805. Must be the movement in the Dollar/Pound rate during the year that has brought the price down. Apparently, Modulus only run the flake finishes a couple of times during a year 'cos of the long clean-up time this finish causes in the spray shop. SMART say flake finishes are running at a 12 month lead-time! Standard paint jobs apparently are now on 6 months. They say its down to a surge in demand from the US market. Aren't those photos taken from SMART's Flea pages??? Got any of the real bass?
 8.
Cheers, but too late now! The Flea's in the hands of a pro for some work around the neck pocket and a refin. It will emerge with a black body/headstock and tort pickguard. Going for the retro look Chris
Chris, the only custom shop worth leaving your Flea with for all this work is the SimS Custom Shop. Martin Sims is the only guy I would trust with such extensive work. Martin knows how to handle carbon fibre as all of Mark Kings basses in recent years from his Fender J-bass, his Goodfellows and now his King Basses were all LED'd by him. Where on earth did you get such a high quality bass from that needed repair work in the neck pocket? Sounds like it was in a crash! Bassman7
