  1. My Maruszczyk Jake was based on the specs of a Duck Dunn I had blocked and bound neck matching headstock I decided against a jazz pickup at the bass , this comes in at around 7.5 lbs , I've had several laklands Dj , Bob Glaub , and loved them however I now have 2 Jakes and they are at least the equal if not better than the laklands , i had the bass pictured below up for sale I have since come to my senses and removed it
  2. Last of a run of 4 gigs in 8 days for us last night ,circus carnival ball complete with large model animals amongst other things. Contracted for 2 x 45 minutes sets to be finished by 11.30 as they also had a DJ entertainer complete with dancers who would take the night through till 1.30pm. Arrived as agreed at 4pm to be told they had messed up the timings to be told they had issues with another room in the hotel and had moved those guests who had booked for a quiet singer only meal/ evening into the party. This would result in everything would overrun and we would only be going on at 1045 and would still finish at 1145 so only required to do 1 hour , not an issue but meant a bit of set rearrangement , About an hour before going on Manager came to us and said some people were complaining about background music being too loud and could we try and tone it down, Evening was beginning to have all the makings of a night mare at 10.20 the DJ went and did a 15 minute 70s spot complete with dancers at which point they were still serving food fair play to him he got crowd going for us straight on and did 80 minutes virtually without taking a breath to cram as much as possible in, turned out to be a blast our singer is a proper extrovert which helped and had dance floor full and bouncing all night so what looked like being hard work turned out to be a good night. had to wait till everything finished to pack down plus with an hour drive home didn't get in till 3.30 but all in all good night and extremely well paid so can't complain. month off now after a really busy 2017 40'gigs in already for next year so going to be another busy one

  20. Just looking for a bit of info considering a change of amplification currently using a fender rumble 500 watt 210 combo which has served me really well, however I prefer 15's really and the Jeff berlin has caught my eye. I play in a covers band pretty wide variety of stuff from current to indie to 60's and 70's , we do a mixture of pub gigs and private parties functions weddings etc, generally di but do occasional gigs where the combo would be stand alone. Be interested to hear from anyone with experience of one of these in terms of tone power etc Cheers Steve
  21. Played Orrell live yesterday a local last night of the proms event which finishes with a brass band doing land of hope and glory etc, We were on at 430 which turned out to be a great slot in between Nathan Moore ex brother beyond and the remaining members of S Club 7 now quaintly renamed S Club party We were the only full band on so had a great time with the engineers who were excellent so nice to have a big stage to move around on crowd numbering around 2000 we managed to get lots of people down to the front in party mood and dancing played really well did a good one hour set great sound and audience reaction. Used the jake I have for sale on here as my other one has developed an electrical issue that I didn't have time to fix now thinking about the wisdom of selling it as it sounded great. Think next weeks pub gig might be a bit of a struggle hahahahaha
  22. Final price drop bump now £650 posted
