I just picked up a qsc rmx 1450 for £150 off the bay.i dont find it heavy, never carried a plx one though. it seems that the qsc's and yamaha p series are the popular ones for bass rigs.i used to have a yamaha p7000, i found it quite noisy and it rattled every now and again.apparently if something goes wrong with a qsc,it is easy enough to get parts for them too.
Good price, I have one of these in the PA too, wont go far wrong. 1400w bridge at 4 ohms lol

Ebay link with pics etc. Edited below - now for sales or trade - It is in excellent condition, unmarked save the usual corner protector scratches. 8 ohm, 400w. The current version only has one slot of ports, mine is the prev one (still orange tho), with ports top and bottom. Awesome cabs, I have owned 3 of these now. I will entertain £350 plus postage - would rather meet up somewhere tho as I have not got a box. Nottingham. I will do some photos later on. Trades wise - preamps, power amp, heads? No bases though. Cheers Chris

QSC for me all the way. The RMX 2450 is great - 750w stereo 4 ohms. 22kg, but really sold sounding, and can be had new for under £600. I sue two in the PA. Never fail (touch wood lol)

I have just tried my BDDI into a QSC RMX2450, into one of my Markbass cabs. Sounded great. Might have to look for the RBI - rackmount version of the BDDI. Anyone got one?

I would add that watching the hi-hat/ride cymbal can be very useful, and essential if you cannot stand right next to the drummer. In one of the bands I dep in, I stand next but one to the drummer, and cannot always hear the kick drum on stage that well, but watching the hihat out of the corner of my eye does the trick. All drummers will push or pull the tempo (intentionally or otherwise) at times, so be aware of this. Keeping it simple is key as others have said - I sometimes find it hard to do this, and I try and work on staying sparse and playing only what is necessary. Oh, I am a drummer too.

POST NO 5 HAS LINKS TO MORE PICTURES £570 WILL SECURE THIS AMP Well, here it is. It is a great combo, and in practically mint condition since I have a Roqsolid cover for it, and in fact I usually have it in a full flight case for the van these days. MB site This is the one - I think they now come with the LM3 head, mine is the LM2 head. 300w into the internal 12" and tweeter, will do the full 500w when paired with an 8 ohm ext cab. Sounds very nice and is absurdly portable. I am only selling as I am moving back to a rack head set up, and thus have no need for a combo these days. These are costing around £780 - £900 new it seems (albeit the LM3 version). I will look at offers, but ideally want as close to £600 as possible, especially given the excellent condition and included roqsolid cover. Will also listen to trade offers - heads and/or cabs - but all in very good nick with no issues please - what I am selling is in just about perfect condition. I am in Nottingham and welcome any trial. Have done a few deals on here, so folk can vouch for me. I will do pictures ASAP, but it is flightcased up and it is midnight so now is not the time lol. more in post below as links
