Another vote for ACG, Alan's a proper gent and his work is absolutely first class.
I've spent 25 years thinking about getting Wal to build me something, but the cost and the waiting list always put me off, last year Alan built this beauty, and I really can't imagine getting anything done of that standard and utility by anyone else now.
Stunning!

Fellas, let's not make this a " so and so are best" thread.
We are privileged to have the choice of so many great basses made on our doorsteps.
I've owned many of our UK built brands all of them fantastic in their own way.
Enjoy them all.
Fair point, and sorry for derailing.
We are very much spoilt for choice in the UK, it's a shame that our builders aren't given the profile they deserve.

Another +1 for ACG.
I met Alan about 16 years ago, and it wasn't long after that I ordered my first ACG.
Since then, I have moved on all other basses, and I can't see me playing any other basses every again.
The build quality is as good as, if not better than any other high end bass I have played, and as mentioned above, Alan's patience and customer service is second to none.
I've now got 7 basses, plus 2 guitars, and of course I want more!
Here's a few of them...

Bass Direct have a 32” Mensinger Cazpar 6 string. I am sure you can order a 30” version on the Public Peace website, or via BD.
Sadly, even at it's most basic, a 30" Cazpar would still likely end up over £1700.

Actually, there is this little guy.
https://www.rondomusic.com/hxb406natbshort.htmlIt's not going to be as good an ACG, but it's under budget, which is a nice change

your instruments look amazing but I'm assuming they're way out of my budget (circa £500)
Yeah, split new, you'd probably need at least 5 times that

Are there any short scale 6 string basses? Like a proper 6 string bass tuned B, E, A, D, G, C but short scale?

Yes indeed, I have 3 31.5" scale ACGs tuned B to C.

Totally forgot to upload this one!
A little original ditty played on an incredible AC Guitars Mule bass I had the pleasure of borrowing from @skelf
Short scale, heavily chambered, 5er, tuned E to C with Black Tape Strings and Piezo electronics, absolutely incredible instrument and it literally weighs nothing at all!

I found some strings for this that work in standard 5 string low B tuning. Great fun!!
Still need to make a truss rod cover though!!
Where did you get these mythical strings?
I found the low B with my usual strings on my 26.5" close to passable, but it didn't set my world on fire. Would be very interested to know what you've got and even better to hear some samples.

Oh bloody hell.
Really hope this turns up!
Couriers are getting dodgier, we had 4 laptops go missing in transit with FedEx.
They're all at it.

Hey guys,
I have an as new Zoom B3n up for grabs.
I bought it new from Andertons, unboxed it and played around for 30 mins, but I'm just more of a separates kinda guy, so it has to find a new home.
This unit is absolutely mint, as it came on the day I bought it, nothing missing from the box, no dings, marks, no signs of use at all.
Looking for £100 plus UK postage/courier but happy to entertain offers, try me, no trades though thank you.
Any questions, just shout!
Cheers,
Eude

I think there's just one guy behind Manton, but he makes some lovely basses, so worth including in the list for sure!
