Hey guys,
I have an as new Zoom B3n up for grabs.
I bought it new from Andertons, unboxed it and played around for 30 mins, but I'm just more of a separates kinda guy, so it has to find a new home.
This unit is absolutely mint, as it came on the day I bought it, nothing missing from the box, no dings, marks, no signs of use at all.
Looking for £100 plus UK postage/courier but happy to entertain offers, try me, no trades though thank you.
Any questions, just shout!
Cheers,
Eude

Very cool, I'll be following this one!

That is bloody awesome, great work fella!
I've always fancied building a Tallboy 12 at some point. If it ends up half as good as that I'll be delighted!

That is truly stunning.
What's the scale length on it? (Too lazy to go find the other thread 😉)

Does anyone know if Alan would be into upgrading this to an Uber spec ? Is the single coil pickup longer than the RFB ? The RFB looks to be the same size as a MC5..
I don't speak for Alan, but I think the only way to get the MC Series pickups is to buy an Über spec bass.

I know exactly what you mean. 30 minutes away is close enough for me to talk myself into another soooo easily. Must resist. At least for now 😀
I used to be an hour away, but since moving to London I've seen no improvement, I'm still plotting more ACGs!

Just to chime in, nut widths on ACG 5ers tend to be 45mm, or thereabouts.
40mm on 4s and 54mm on 6ers too, if anyone is interested

So Warwick to ACG by way of MusicMan
Warwick to ACG by way of Shuker for me.
I coveted Warwick basses for much of my youth, I finally got one and played it to death.
When I commissioned my first custom bass, a Shuker 6 string, I could barely play the Warwick when I went back to it, the ergonomics were a really bad fit for me, and I had just got used to it.
After that experience, it's been custom all the way for me, and I have very much settled with ACGs.

Maruszczyk emailed me back. 32 is the smallest they'll go on a singlecut...
Argh. That's annoying.

But I did reach out to mensinger / Maruszczyk and asked him about making a 30 or 31" sputnik bass. The sputnik is more similar in construction to the JCR...
That's a good shout actually, the Sputnik could be built similarly to your JCR. It sounds like JCR didn't understand your enquiry or just isn't interested.
There was a gorgeous 32" Sputnik 5er on here recently, which is a lot more along the lines you're thinking.
I'm sure they could come up with something that scratches your itch.

It's a bit difficult with them because he doesn't speak english and I don't speak spanish so we are always tripping over each other but yeah, it's definitely worth reaching out to him about that.
I guess some bilingual intermediary you trust would be the way to go if you went that route then.
I honestly think it's the safest route to what you want/need.

Yeah, I have been hesitant to go that route because I've had spectacularly bad experiences with custom basses but it's probably worth looking into. Swan makes something that is 30.75 which I really like but it's very expensive and i'm not sure i'd get my money back out of it if I end up being disappointed. Manne also makes a 31 that looks great. I'll have to look at ACG again...
Wasn't saying ACG is the way forward for you, but they are for me 100%.
What about asking JCR if they would make one for you, along the lines of what you already have, but in a shorter scale?
That's the more obvious solution, to me anyway. You have a bass by them that you really really like, it has everything you want, bar the reach being too much, they'd be best placed to come up with something that ticks all your boxes I'd expect...
-
Why not look into having a custom 30" 6er made?
You can go for similar specs to the JCR?
I play 31.5" ACG basses, 5s and 6s, and for me that's the best compromise as I can also get a really useable low B with it.I used to play 33" basses, but switching to 31.5" has been a game changer for me.

It's been over twelve months since I posted my board so I thought an update was due.
There have been a couple of small changes, but the core remains the same. Main shifts: Darkglass is gone (forever - there was always something 'lacking' with the DG pedals for me) and the SA Aftershock rocks. I upgraded my modulation hub from the Terraform to a Synesthesia, replaced a Nemesis Delay with a second Collider (allowing me stack 4 delays or 4 reverbs or any combination as needed) and my 'spare slot' changed from the Matryoshka to the Fwonkbeta. Though the Fwonk plays very well with the dirt section for some synth tones, it's a bit too 'funk' and the filters in the Synesthesia do a decent job for synthy tones as well, so I'm considering replacing this for something else in the same enclosure width - not sure what yet.Signal chain for those that like that kind of thing...
Input -> Boss OC-5 Octave ->
Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler ->
Source Audio Aftershock ->
Red Panda Bitmap 2 ->
Mr. Black Fwonkbeta ->
GFI System Synesthesia ->
Iron Ether Xerograph Deluxe (+ Moog EP-3 Expression Pedal) ->
Digitech Whammy Ricochet ->
Source Audio Collider Delay + Reverb (1) ->
Source Audio Collider Delay + Reverb (2) ->
TC Electronics Polytune 2 Mini -> Output
Everything is powered by a Cioks DC7 (which hasn't even hit the 40% load light yet - what a power supply!) and cabled with EBS gold flat patch cables. All mounted to a Pedaltrain Classic2.
That's beautiful!
