  1. Knobs are clever as they can use different colour enclosures and only one knob colour- chrome is so out there it will go with any colour  - reducing part count

Well the 73P and the 66J were my two best. The P came in one piece, the J took a couple of years and came in seven pieces from seven different donors. If I don't get back into the workforce soon, the 73P may become the worst purchase!

Currently is the worst that fender you got where they forgot to sell you the body

    Which one won.

Anadime - it’s simpler, really musical and the HPF makes a big difference

the bass boost is technically better and more flexible , and i should peobably do some basic recording comparison and if i did i think that it would probably sound better … and is flexible enough do a lot of chorus sounds really well (and vibrato and flange) - but i think i like the Anadime more - it’s very close though, they are both great and cover a lot of the same ground

JPTR Jive arrived this morning after a long ride from Germany.

First impressions are all very positive.

It may be what I've been searching for. Certainly sounds like a bass straight into the desk of an old reel to reel tape recorder.

Live test will come on Thursday.

With the clipping stages on or off?
    how’s yours @TbirdnTalman?

I'd love to attend a 2024 Bash and would be happy to book the 2023 location in Nottingham, if that is what people want, but I'm afraid I won't be able to get involved in any of the organisation this time: I'm about to start a new job and have very little idea of my availability over the next few months, as it will involve shift work.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

it's not being unhelpful - it's passing the baton

best not to go for "grass is greener" approach and switch it...

    I didn’t listen to myself!
Now got to try them out and then move the one I like least at somepoint. IMG_0418.thumb.jpeg.1b26a95cbdaf1d94b379cfc2031a74a3.jpeg

Yes, but didn’t directly hear about it from SA as it’s not something that requires beta testing.

If you’re google-savvy, you can find it on their site. I shan’t post directly.

    damn - I can't find it either!

Thanks very much for the link @LukeFRC. Do you know how "close" this one is to the DG?

Oh, I was not aware DG came from the BYOD community. Very interesting

I don’t know what BYOD means but early varients we’re on diystompboxes

    https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=69335.0

Another version here https://www.musikding.de/Maelstrom-Bass-Drive-kit  Electronically it will be similar - I think one of the chips is hard to source (see note on Schalltechnik version)

I think If you want it to be the same buy a darkglass made one.

    Hello all,

Question... Does DemonFX have a version of the DarkGlass Vintage Microtubes? That's really the sound I hear in my head when I think of drive, mostly after watching an old Steve Lawson YT clip where he's showing off his pedals (LINK) <around 02:20 he talks about the VMT>.

Anyway... That's what I'm after. Any thoughts?
    Kind regards
    Julian aka Glassmoon

Seeing as Darkglass stuff kinda grew up in the DIY community, you could build your own? https://www.musikding.de/Guma-Antique-Overdrive-kit
