1. Here we have My Asdown Mag 600 Evo II for sale. I was using this with an 8x10 cab in a couple of bands when I needed to shift lots of air but now I'm no longer in those two bands. I have also recently aquired a GK rig so this amp head is now surplus. It's in Mint condition. Looking for £195 ono. Would prefer a local pickup from Whitstable Kent. 2. It's time to let my combo go. Initially I bought it because my main amp let me down. Then I discovered Mark Bass so this combo was left unused under the stairs. It's seen no more than 14 gigs. Does have a scuff on the back where it caught on a protruding boot catch. All Buttons, Sliders and pots intact. Would prefer collection for this but could travel if not too far. Looking for £300 ono. I'm based in Sunny Whitstable in Kent. Hartke VX3500 ; The VX3500 combo combines the best selling classic Hartke 3500 amp with a killer Hartke speaker cabinet loaded with four 10" Hartke VX speakers and a high frequency driver. In addition, the VX3500 offers a number of additional advanced features, including front panel compression and graphic equalizer LED indicators, effects send and return jacks, an effects send/return balance knob and a direct output with ground lift and pre or post EQ selection. With excellent power and tone, the VX3500 is ideal for live performance use in small and medium-size venues. 5. Ooh what a question. There's many great fretless players out there. The ones that spring to mind are; Percy Jones (Brand X) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TALWkw3cWqA Wilbur Bascomb ( Jeff Beck - Wired) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHK210Cblwg&feature=fvsr Dave Ball (Barabara thompsons Paraphernalia) and hundreds more!
6.
Watch for the bridge too, kept catching me out a few times
.....and was that gap before the rundown on purpose too? .....Am I turning into an anorak?
7.
I agree with steve, cracking tune. I especially like how the bass player misses the push into the first chorus....!
I have to learn this for gig and I keep wondering whether the pushes into the 1st and 2nd chorus were purposely missed or not. Was looking online to find the notation and found this thread!
8. I had always wanted to try one. The first one I ever tried wasn't me. I then tried a Rouge and loved it but it got sold before I could get it. The third one ( Essence 5 string) I bought as its smooth to play, tonaly great and looks good too. I wouldn't say its heavy compared to some other basses. Well built bass and I never have had a problem with balance. great when Di'd It still sounds good when your strings are starting to go dead too. More Hi Fi than woody sounding but glad I was able to get this bass. The only draw back I could ever mention is the dot markers are hard to see at darker gigs.
9. John bought my G&L Tribute SB2. Fast payment. Great communicator! Cheers! Tim.
10. I use three different rigs depending on what gig. Markbass CMD 121H, Hartke vx3500 (4x10 combo) and for the louder venues Ashdown head and a Hartke VX810. Did like the fact that Larry Hartke was on the other end of a phone so you could ask about his products. He did question why I went for the combo and not separates, but theres was a huge discount at the shop. No problems with this equipment and I think the tone and price are fine.
11. I'm in sunny Whitstable!
Wherebouts in kent are you?
17. Hi Was thinking of replacing my jack to jack leads.Have previously used whirlwind and some other cheap leads. I feel like I'm out of touch with leads. What is everybody using these days? Tim.
18. Great thread this - Read from page one to page 21 non stop. Things that bug me are; Using wristbands as capos Stickers on basses Wing mirrors ( tuners stuck on headstocks) Any more than 6 strings is effectively a harp Scallopped fingerboards on bass Rotos - got splinters off of those things fastfret any flanger effect on bass
