I love the bumper sticker - but not £4 much i don't that's a hell of a lot for overheads BTW "All your bass are belong to me" ain't exactly good grammar is it! Ideas - yeah make 'em big & sell 'em cheap Cheerz, John
Yeah part of hte problem on zazzle is the pricing. Those bumperstickers charge me at 3.60 and can't set a margin lower than that ! its kinda stupid. All your bass are belong to me is a reference to the old MEME. (Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_your_base_are_belong_to_us)
2. I've been toying with making some bass related t shirts on zazzle/cafepress etc, just for a laugh and to excercise my graphic design on the pc. Anyway, Kinda stuck for ideas currently! Anyone able to help? Check out what I already have here : ps, apologies if this breaks any rules, not entirely sure !
3. Slightly intrigued by this, but would be coming from cambridge, and am complete noob. Whats the low down on what happens etc? S
4. Bought a Cab off clarky. Excellent dealings and felt that he wanted to get it sorted properly (He was out of hte country at the time).
5. Bought a Hartke Head off Mel. So far so good and very friendly and swift to deal with. Top notch!
6.
If bass is easy then you’re either a genius or you’re not doing it right!
easier to learn, harder to master!
7.
What do you think would happen if the bass player started copying everone else's lines ?
I do it sometimes in rehearsal because our lead guitarist thinks its funny to do it to me at other times..... things like Molly Chambers (Kings of Leon) On the second verse the guitar plays a little riff on the octave after each line. It sounds quite cool with the bass actually! And it came in handy when we had a gig where he couldn't make it so I covered him and we just did a limited set that the rhythm could solo on....
8. No interest? Down to £100! (Cambridge area)
9. Just getting a feeler on this kickback style Combo amp. I like it, and it is a good quality amp, but it just doesn't suit me as it is too big to fit in my car feasibly (Has to ride on backseat to gigs as opposed to in the boot with the other stuff) I am intending to sell this only if my deal regarding a head/cab comes through, hence current feeler status. It is in good condition mostly, is missing one rubber foot off the bottom (not used when in kickback position) and has had 2 gigs (DI'ed) and a few practises only, as I would rather use my smaller behringer for practical reasons...
10.
The previous sale of this barely-used Midget T cab fell through as the tweeter housing was damaged, we believe by the courier company en route to my original buyer, Mr_Bassman (Keith). Alex at Barefaced has kindly taken the cab back and restored it to as-new condition and is holding it for me. As I am the happy owner of a Compact this Midget is surplus to my needs and up for sale again now that it is in perfect working order. Please note the cab will be dispatched to the buyer directly from Barefaced. As before its £475 posted including a custom padded cover. I am currently abroad with only sporadic internet access so this is more of a heads up. I will be back and able to deal with this mid-August.
pm'ed

12.
Price drop to £165 as I need the cash. This is almost £100 off the new price! Can't believe it's still here....
Pickup only or willin to ship?
13.
I'm Lorry and live just outside of cambs. I've been playing in classic rock covers bands for the last 5 or 6 years. I've been very unsettled since leaving a band last July - The band reformed, but after a year we are still looking for replacement members. Meanwhile, I have been doing some session slots with a couple of bands in the Peterborough/Cambs area, just to keep me busy. I'm starting to get fed up, and feel I need a new project and a fresh start. Ideally I would like a band that is gigging as much as possible! Normally, I play covers, but I dont mind playing originals if the band is right. As well as a bassist, I work as an engineer/techie/projects co-ordinator and carry out tech work/repairs on guitars, amps, pedals, PA etc as a hobby - which would be a benefit to interested bands! I also play abit of guitar, and have a gig-ready guitar rig. I am currently setting up a recording/rehearsal facility locally. Age is not an issue for me, I have worked with people from the ages of 16 to over 50, but preferably you would be over 18 otherwise gigging would be an issue! My equipment list (for bass) is in my signature - I also have my own active monitors, etc. I have my own transport, but don't really want to travel for more than 30mins for rehearsals. I'm interested in Classic Rock, Blues and Punk. I'm really not into metal, anything screamy, and definately not into the cambridge indie scene. My influences are bands like: ACDC Thin Lizzy Led Zeppelin Guns n' Roses/Velvet Revolver Whitesnake Airbourne Aerosmith Bon Jovi Gary Moore Joe Bonamassa Green Day Blink-182 The Ramones The Jam (You get the idea) I'm up for giving most things a go. If you would like a chat, please dont hesitate to send me a PM, and we can talk more. Many thanks for reading this, All the best, Lorry - 'The Rockin' Roadie'
There is very little bass work in cambridge at the moment! I'm lucky to have just got into a second project...
14. Is this still on hold? I'm all over this as I've done my back in with my current setup!
15. Where did you get the pickguard ? I have a natural one and never had a pg on it.

17. (cough i'm going to be a bit of a wierdo here) but the nicest 5'er I played (in a shop mind you) was a High End Ibanez.... SR4005e Prestige (or the 5005, given how much money ou have, but the difference is marginal) ( http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eb_page11...p;series_id=469 ) edit : looks like they have stopped making the 4005e, or at least, it is no longer on the UK site.

Yamaha BBs
I've just bought a s/h BB615 for a back up and house noodling bass and I love it to bits. I've not used it with the band yet but it sounds lovely through my Tascam BT. Staggeringly good value - I'm seriously considering blowing some mahoney on a better preamp for it, maybe a new bridge and then it'll be a stonker.
Agree, I have a 615 as my main Work horse at the moment. Bought new though! only downside with the yamaha, i broke the top nut by not filing it enough when i went for a thicker B string. Yamaha said 5 months for a replacement, so had to go get a luthier to make one....
19. On hold, pending payment .
20. Looks like some good recommendations above. If you are after small necks, you might consider an Ibanez too. My first bass was an Ibanez SR (Gio) , really nice thin neck, and very fast.
21. Still looking for a buyer, couple of enquiries but nothing solid.
22.
Welcome to the Forum
Thanks! I love the orange crush (35B ? ) ! my first gigging amp!
23. Just realised I have never introduced myself. Long time lurker, often found drooling over basses in the FS section.... Anyway. Stephen, from cambridge, playing bass 3 years , love doing so. First bass bought for my 21st birthday by my brother, have since gone through about 8 more basses (most ly in the last year) on a quest to find the one. My main rig though : Yamaha BB615 (my workhorse) Zoom B2.1U for a few minor adjustments and I prefer the ease of using a combo, so have a Hartke A100 as my main amp... certainly big enough for everything I do currently! Currently searching for a new workhorse , something mid market (around 500-600 quid to spend) and definately a 5er. Tempted by a 55-01 or a corvette $$, but have also been loving ibanez basses, as they seem to suit me really well!
