2. I own a HH EB Stingray, and the 2 humbuckers is definitely better than just the one IMO. You can get J bass trhough P bass as well as some pretty damn cool sounds. I use it for all styles. Depends if you feel you'll use switching a lot.
 3. This bass looks absoultely amazing. out of my price range though. So have a bump

 12.
When you are installing new strings,do you wrap them round the posts a few turns before tuning up?This can cause that weird 'phasing' effect you're talking about.I used to do that a lot until I discovered thats what was causing the problem.Try removing the offending strings and then re-install them, without first wrapping them round the post.Take up the slack by using the machine head.Worked for me.
Yes I do actually, Will also give that a go and let you know how it goes!
 13.
Is the action very low? I mean do your string buzz even when played open? Also... you are playing what is a 9V active bass through what looks like a tiny amp (no disrespect) have you tried it through a bigger amp / speaker? I have a feeling that the impedance of your bass might be a little too much for that ickle amp to handle, try the same with your bass volume down a couple of (imaginary) notches say from 10 to 8 or... 11 to 9 if yours go to 11
No the action is relatively high, and yes I have tried it through my Ashdown Rig (210 abm combo with 212 cab underneath) Same thing, I dont think its anything electrical as the bass does still have the phasing when played acoustically.
f*** me! 55 to 110 gauge is massive compared to the average 40/45 and by average I mean as in most used by bassists worldwide. That might be the reason that a couple of strings aren't too happy in the slots. But try first with a lower volume on the bass.
Yea I like me string beefy Will give it a go in the morning
 14.
ok, well what strings are you using, just out of curiosity?
Power Slinkys. 55-110 Also happens with elixars, DR And Custom and Regular Slinkys
 15.
Yes it does have one of them, I shall give that a go!
Done that no change to the sound whatsoever
 16.
has it got a compensated nut or one of those ordinary one? I also suspect is the nut, remove the strings and use a pencil tip to lay some led in the slots.
Yes it does have one of them, I shall give that a go!
 17. Bass problem Listen to when I play the 3rd string. I play the g and e first and then the d and a strings which are the problems one. I'm using a set of Power Slinky's that I put on 2 minutes before.
 18. Fixed my horrible spelling! video coming shortly
 19. Hello, I'm having a bit of trouble with my 2008 Musicman Stingray. Everytime I put a new set of strings on it, One or more of the strings (Will be perfectly intune and perfect intonated) will have a weird phasing sound on it. The problem mostly occurs on the d and the a string. I have tried many different set of string and it happens with all different types of guages. It also only happens when playing the open string I know this sounds like an odd problem. Here is a video Bass Problem Listen to when I play the 3rd string. I play the g and e first and then the d and a strings which are the problems one. I'm using a set of Power Slinky's that I put on 2 minutes before. Is there anything I can do to stop this?
 20.
We all have our favourite players and tunes. What are you really digging at the moment. I'll start you off. Just re-discovered this. My bro bought the 12 inch when it first came out - he's always had better taste than me and he is a drummer! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEtS2cRWjOk
God the vocal on tht is weird! IMO, other than in daft punk songs, vocoder doesnt really sound right in in funk/soul! The breakdown of this song is quite fun to play. 21.
See what I mean?
Haha I jest. I definitely agree with your previous statement. Its like in singer's ranges. Just because you can drop down to C-2 or up to belt at C+3 doesnt mean you need to do it in everything you do. Having the ability to go that little bit lower or that little bit higher when the song requires is always good. 5 strings do open up this ability to players, but I believe IMO that most people are more comfortable with 4 strings as a ease of use thing.

 23. I definitely prefer 4 string basses. If you need to lower than E, use a sub-octave pedal
 24.
I'm thinking of hinting at one of those Planet Waves string winders with the built in cutter. A very comfy strap to help me bear the weight of my Gibson Victory Artist might be a good idea also. Maybe a gigbag - buying and selling of basses in the last year has left me with only 2 bags and 1 hard case for 6 basses.
Honestly one of the best guitar teching tools I've bought in a long time I'd say its a must.
 25. Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, The Police, Bands fronted by bass players have been my inspiration since I started! Music video if proof is needed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMDq0H_QFA8
