4. Reminds me a lot of a Westone Thunder, especially the later ones.

    EHX Superego

SuperEgo/Freeze owners, Do you find that the effect is quite useful for bass? Does it help add layers under the band when you play with one?
  6. I think I'd my VTBD more useful than this. I used to play with just a VTB pedal, and I always wanted more settings, or at least more gain in places. Surely running one of those straight into the PA or into a power amp is way more verstile. Never got Rack stuff me, But VT anything is just killer.
  7. I just had a On Off On lying about and wanted to try it! but I've bought a ON ON ON switch, so its not trouble.
  8. No Dice sadly! Double checked all my componets, all fine on there own, even both pickups wired straight to jack! Hmm....
  9. Cheers for the response man, i will give that a shot and let you know how that turns out!!
  10. Thanks for the help Woodinblack, but I'm Still a little perplexed with this. I've got signal coming through for neck and both but only from the neck pick up. I'll type out how the signal chain goes to see if any of you can spot what i'm doing wrong. (I'm ignoring tone pots as i dont have any and I'm got a humbucker at neck position coil tapped) 1. Neck pickup + to left hand lug of Neck pickup pot 2. Neck Pickup pot output to far right lug on switch 3. Neck Pickup - to right hand lug on pot (right hand lug NOT connected to pot casing for ground) 4. Neck Pickup pot right hand lug connected to center position on switch 5. Bridge Pickup + to left hand lug of Bridge Pickup pot 6. Bridge Pickup Pot output to right hand lug of Neck pickup pot 7. Bridge Pickup - to Bridge Pickup Pot casing for ground 8. Bridge Pickup pot Right hand Lug connected to case for ground 9. Bridge pickup ground point connected to far left lug of switch 10. Jack Hot connected to far right hand lug on switch 11. Jack ground connected to Far left lug on switch 12. Switch far left lug connect to back centre lug of switch Can anyone see any mistakes in that? Desperate for help on this!!!
  11. Hey guys, still having a little trouble with this, and understanding the danelectro schematics. Could someone please still draw me out how to use the miniswitch? Im quite confused now!!!
  12. Yep I'd be happy to wire them in series, Any chance any one could do a quick diagram of the switch like this?
  13. Is it possible to use either a SPDT or DPDT On Off On mini switch to switch between 2 pickups. with position 1 neck, Center positon both and 3 position bridge? or can you only use a ON ON ON DPDT switch to achieve this?
  14. Thats a amazing wiring guide, Wish I could read German!! Pm'ed you!
  15. I'm just getting into modding my lovely P Bass to be a bit more custom, and I really need help with the wiring! I have soldering experience and can do the work myself, I just need a bit of help with the diagram! Here is what I would like to achieve:

Humbucker at neck postion. Coil tapped so I can pick between either coil as a single coil. (3 positions North coil, Both, South coil) Either a telecaster 3 way selector or a Jaguar sliding 3 way selector.

P bass split pickup.

A concentric Volume and Tone for each pickup.

3 way selector between the pickups. I'd like to use a telecaster style 3 way selector.
Whats the best why to achieve this? I've drawn up a little jig in photoshop (its not brilliant I admit!!!) If someone could fill in the lines for where the connections should go that would be awesome!!! Jig:

  19. Would you consider spliting the head and cab, and where are you based mate?
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24yWr2LRmJY The video above is Musicman's cleaning guide for unfinished necks. At the beginning of the video it says this technique isn't suitable for instruments with maple necks. Why is that? The bass I'm trying to clean is a maple neck stingray I want to take off the old wax and reapply it. Would it be bad for my neck to sand it like in the video?
