1. Thanks Daf' & Dill' .. I think that if you use that magnifying+ thingy on the PC/laptop you can bring the Review (BP) up to a full page, legible size. As I mentioned, the -points of the Review (mid vs. NotchF and pickup vol/bal) have both been addressed by the replacement (new) circuitboard. I also reckon their weighing machine is out as I have it on the digital scales @ 9.4lbs. Certainly a viable option to Bacchus (and other quality basses in that price range) with an original design and the MM + J.

3. Yeh, that's what I thought too. I should add that I did receive replies to me Q's (not always the case), but that these were:- "no cash" .. and (when I pointed-out thelinks above, from the USA):- "My friends list to craiglist my bass" !!.. now I know the folkks of Washington aren't always the most erudite, but that's pretty strange and rather un-English construction (.. wth apologies to the people of Washington Tyne & Wear ... and DC .)
4. That's odd: ended @ £721 - with bid(bids) removed just before the end... maybe somebody had the same worries as me! I've contacted the winner (Holland) to alert of possible problem: seems pointless to contact ebay (?!)
5. I was VERY tempted to bid on this and to collect if I won.... .. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=010 ...might have missed out on a great/special bass, but the seller refused cash (didn't comment on collection or request for photos of the back of the bass) .. plus I came across these with a standard search:- http://cleveland.craigslist.org/msg/570521799.html http://www.netinstruments.com/a.php?a=35862 ... very 'familiar' + seems odd to list such a bass with 24h / BIN but no Reserve (in addition to refusing cash). But, if it goes for a low price and is genuine I'll be kicking myself !!... (£800 with 5 mins. to run)
6. Godlyke Disciple 5-string bass in translucent red over an ash body (satin finish). It is THE test bass as reviewed in BassPlayer (USA) magazine in April 2004 (although it has been improved & upgraded since the Review by the addition of the new Godlyke EQ system - as fitted to all current Deity and Disciple basses). Godlyke Instruments are hand-built in Japan by one of their most reputable of small shops with all work being completed by hand (!) - quite similar, in terms of build quality, to the original Bacchus basses. It is, effectively, brand-new and in totally mint condition. The photos pretty much speak for the quality and condition of the bass. Features include:- 2-piece, lightweight & highly figured Ash body (total weight is slightly < 9lbs.) 7. Sorry (... forgot to add update!..) - Bass is SOLD. Will amend listing accordingly.
8. "Interesting" .. but absolutely nothing to do with me, I'm afraid... (not my 'thing' at all..... but agree with the 'something rather more classy' comment) !!
9. Still available (sigh...)... I really thought this was to sell on ebay: 30+ watchers and some sensible/promising questions from UK & Int'l. SOLD ovno. with DHL (24h.) incl. Paypal also accepted, though would prefer an e-CHQ (PP) if possible.
10. decided to ebayit :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=006
11. KNOB update: have now managed to source the other Vol/Tone knob .. so the bass now has 2/3 (rather than 1/3) knobs, with the Vol & Tone being the correct ones (like the one previously used for the 6x switch .. which has now been replaced by an old, circular/domed + pointer knob. it's not the correct knob, but looks about right with the pointer hitting the 6 white dots). I'll try to add a photo tomorrow. BTW, the USA (ebay) listed SB1000 (1980) ended @ $1495 (£717).
12. Thanks C K .. it's now on ebay:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=006 ... as needs must. Ends Sunday.
13. .. addtional concern: does Carvin gear have a 120/240 switch (as with Acoustic Image, PJB etc.) and/or is it easy to convert internally..?.. Some seem to be nigh-on impossible and certain Co.'s are very poor in assisting/advising...
14. ebay listed :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=006 .. ends Sunday evening.
15. Thanks G N ... the USA (ebay) one is still rising.. now up to $1425 (£717) !!.. so it's already outdone the other one and still has 2+ days to run. Mind, it does appear to be more-or-less 100% original and has what looks like the original case.
