1. .. how do you use "+Quote"....?... never tried it before and have just failed completely ! Anyway, it's definitely a thirsty climate out there! .. in addition to what I think you meant (!). Okay .. have added some prices. I've reduced the Skjold Custom 4 by £200 and will amend the previous listing. The Tune bass had truss rod issues when I bought it: the truss rod has been replaced but it's not 100% so is best as a beginner / spare instrument. Shame, as it's otherwise nice (and unusual). The Marleaux Signature(s) are, obviously, very expensive (!). But the current price is €3800 per bass (currently £3k with the strong €uro): that's without a case; both mine have nice, lightweight hardcases. The prices are all inclusive of Courier delivery (next-day) Realise that I must get some photos and details up - will do that asap.
2. Mick - thanks for the positive (and totally accurate, of course) comments. Parker Muse: well, I haven't actually sold anything as yet and I'm not going to Thailand. The ££ will be spent wisely, don't worry: I'm sure that my Singaporean wife and our three kids will play their part.
3. more PM replies + managed to attach some LINKS to photos & descriptions on Bass Porn.
4. Thanks for all the PM's / queries (15 to date - managed to reply to all, I think). I'll try to get some prices posted this evening along with some general photos and cross-links (to Bass Porn / Basses 4 sale + Amps/cabs / bits) to make things easier.
5. Well, finally seems likely that our longed-for / long-term move back to Asia (ultimately Singapore) is on - either end of summer (?.. if that ever arrives) or end of the year. Not keen to sea-freight stuff (having experienced this before) but will probably air-freight one or two basses once we're out there: there's a couple of instruments (well, a 'pair') I'd really like to keep but it'll probably be decided by what sells or is left. I'll start to post individual stuff shortly and a couple are already here in Classifieds or BassPorn, then update (initally with prices) and links etc. But if there's anything that's of real interest, drop me a PM or email. 6. Mick (macko68), Not sure why you felt the need to include that outrageous comment. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I've visited your place (about 8 miles from me) 3 times since 2003: each time at your request as you were thinking of buying a new bass and were interested to know what I might have, either to buy or to see. On each occasion I would have been able to bring about 4 basses as I wouldn't have got any more into the car. So that means each was worth about £6500. ... I recall you buying a Marleaux Straight 4 and later a Lakland 4 (each at around the £700 mark) - and me getting a Tokai Jazz bass from you. I did add a relevant (hopefully) comment to this discussion earlier as I have had experience of ebay removing an auction for stating that an item was advertised elsewhere.
7. bump for the w/end (... and 24+ hours to run on ebay)
8. .. bit confused here ?... who "got beat!": the auction appears to have 3+ days to run with 0-bids as yet... Anyway: with regard to the ebay/listed elsewhere thing, I had an auction removed for stating that so either ebay spotted the wording or were alerted to it by another ebayer who didn't like it (which is more likely, and maybe the only way they might ever see it). So they do use it as a 'legitimate' reason for ending/closing a listing. In light of that, I just don't use it anymore - but obviously, as John says, one is able to remove any auction/listing with 12+ hours to run, so it might occasionally work against ebayers if an instrument (or anything ebayed) in which they're interested is listed or advertised elsewhere but the seller is unable to state so; particularly if there's an attractive BIN and/or start price but they're playing the common wait-and-see or approach or just giving it some thought and consideration.
9.
Nice looking bass! Any ideas about when it might be in the classifieds then Dave?

I was gonna say the same. I cant imagine how stunning that would look in the flesh cos i've never seen a photo do quilt justice.
... whadya mean ?!!..... (LOL) - I can catagorically state that this bass is NOT for sale .. until I check up on another post-Frankfurt bass (with one already in-the-pipeline). Good to know that it's not such a unique/one-off FLEA (.. although maybe that would be best?...) and that it's similar to (but significantly different from) a 'smart' special. I feel that the JJ + active/3-EQ offers a lot more to the bass - but this is, of course/as usual - a stricly personal view. The simple Fender 'ish + slot-in bridge works well and the neck (very J-like / 1.5" nut) does have truss-rod adjustment. Weight is reasonable @ 9.2 lbs.
10. OK, this is a little different to the conventional FLEA (with the single soapbar) - but it does have a very nice top and IS a Flea body (.. and neck, I think). It has an additional fret and is sort of cloned with the Modulus VJ series of basses. Twin Bartolini J's and with Vol., Pan, and 3EQ. Very nice (?).:-

13. Thanks for the positive comments guys! Lovely bass .. but not really getting much use cf. my Marleaux Sig-4, so now available for sale:- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=16418
14. An instrument not so well-known (as yet) in the UK: this is a Skjold (pronounced 'schold', I think) Exotic Custom with a body of spalted beech, (front and back), and a seven piece maple and purpleheart laminated neck. The fingerboard is Bocote (an upgrade - even on this Exotic Custom, which is the top of the range) . The electronics / pickups are EMG, and overall it's a great sounding (and looking!) bass with a super light weight (8.2 lbs). 35" scale (with zero-fret), Vol - Pan - Mid with +/- and stacked Bass/treble:- £ SOLD !!!

16. .. could be right Andy... but (currently) still available....
17. Thanks for the positive comments guys...... I'm only selling this one to fund a Deity 5 with a more exotic/fancy top: great basses generally.
18. Been asked a few times to put a couple (or more) of my basses up on the Porn section. So here's a couple to start: my favourite bass(es) and built by Marleaux to my specs and choices. The Signature is the top-of-the-line option and this pair is also neck-through (rather than bolt-on). Wood choices are fairly obvious and the basses demo the special features of the Signature model, including the flame-maple bound f/board. The fretted bass features the unique Marleaux Programmable EQ, and the fretless bass is Active-Passive. Both are 3EQ. I have a lot of photos but have selected a handful which show both the quality of workmanship and the contrasts betwee the two, which are very similar in most respects....
19. ... and.. we see it AGAIN !......
