1.
Wow! played one of these with a sexy top,in the early 90s. I havent seen many of these about... Awsome bass... Bumpity bump
Again, thanks .... there were some with a flamed/natural (or translucent) top (and I'll bet the wood beneath this one is possibly the same, which seems an odd thing to do). White + fretless is something of a rarity. The phenoilic/gloss finish on the f/board plus the extensive EQ/piezo really makes this fretless option 'sing'...
2.
... B Quads and the Palladium basses really impress everyone who gets their hands on them......I'll reiterate some of the good things about it. Graphite neck, piezos, gloss-finished fretboard, impeccable build quality. These things sound bloody class (about as close to my ideal fretless tone as it gets, if I can't sound like Bakithi Kumalo, I'll happily take the sound these things make!). Someone, buy this and save me from myself and my late night GAS attacks!
Thanks for the positive comments and bump: you now must give-in to temptation!...
3. Thanks C-K. Had this on ebay recently and, for the first time I'm sure, had not only 0-bids .. but also 0-watchers !! I dropped it for the final 24 hours to £888, so am now trying the same here. It is an exceptional bass, from the 'best' period of PV (when they tried to emulate high-end instruments, and to develop something new - like this one, in conjunction with the inimitable Brian Bromberg). The fundamental tone is very much like the very popular Pedulla 'buzz' models (with the phenolic/coated f/board) .. but there's so much more available, with the piezo and panning options (* pan feature requires a stereo/dual lead, which I don't have). £888 (plus postage)
4. It's strange: they seem to be highly regarded and somewhat rare but not attracting any potential buyer.
5. Tried (and failed) again on ebay ... despite numerous Watchers & Questions. I've had some offers but all too low. Dropping the price Here's a similar ESP 400 I found with a search: doesn't have the correct bridge nor the MHS .. but was removed from ebay when advertised at = £530 / 885 (BIN)...(?!!):-
6. I think this is John Giblin (John Martyn etc. etc. etc.) from past experience. I think the postage fee is a joke(?) as he mentiones that 'postage is the responsibilty of the buyer'... so you can arrange your own courier/costs ... or collect it. I'm sure, though, that the bass will be as described from John.
7. Interesting looking bass:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=017 ... does anybody know these JC (Josh) Hamilton instruments? Surprised by what sounds like a well-established name of which I've never heard. Could be a (risky?) bargain, particularly if you could see/try beforehand
8. Update: Acoustic Image SA = SOLD MM Stingray / Status (neck) = SOLD Modulus FLEA Custom = ON HOLD
9. Update / 'long-shot' : I'm having to visit London on Monday (19th) for Meeting & Embassy visit, so - if there's anybody based in/near the capital and want to confirm a buy, I could bring an instrument with me (as I've decided to drive down late Sat/early Sun). Looks like I'll definitely be dropping-off the Modulus Flea in Luton. Confirmed sales only: can't afford the time & effort for testing/trying I'm afraid, as it'll be a case of squeezing-in as much as I can with 250-300 miles in each direction and 4-6 hours (each way) driving.
10. Clarky did contact me before posting this: I reckon it's a very good price - although photos will help (email me some and I'll see if I can add them) - based on recent sales of Ashborys. I checked ebay before posting mine and found one that went for £220+ (+ P&P also). I'm not sure re. the relative values of older newer models and why some are Fender and others DeArmond (as both seem to be Korean made) .. but I'm sure somebody will know / explain.

12. Thanks Ben - it is 'pretty', and also pretty special ..... and will be missed (if sold; if not I'll just take it with me). I know the great versatility of the Flea bass has been discussed elsewhere on the Forum - and appreciate the traditionalist view, if that's even applicable to Flea, that a Flea bass should be as Flea's, with the single large p/up - but I reckon this one has greater flexibilty even with the 2xJ + B/M/T .. and looks the dog's b*ll*cks to boot.
