Thanks for the + comments Machines & Golchen - this is currently well-ahead in terms of Watchers on ebay @ 20+ .... so am hopefully confident it will sell by the end of the week. Brother Jones: sorry, but under the circumstances cannot offer swaps or p/ex's (as it would merely mean another bass to get rid of...)

A LONG way for W.Sussex unfortunately!.... up in the north-east (Teesside/middlesbrough). I am willing to package (first removing bridge and supporting lower f/board .. but it'll be more expensive: est. £35-40. Seems to be a fair bit of interest in this both here on BC and ebay - location and the nature/size of the instrument seems to be a problem. thus far.

OK .. I thinkI've managed to add all the links (original LIST/post) to individual items - either advertised here, or in Amps etc., or in Bass Porn ... including he Bassix eub (for which I'd forgotten to add photos). Currently the ASHBORY and SKJOLD are on-hold (awaiting receipt or clearance of funds).

Bassix Transition Semi Acoustic Electric Upright Bass from English luthier (see www.Bassix.net for his current range) Original rrp = £1495 34" Scale with Double bass style radiused fingerboard. easy for electric bass players to pick up and play and possible to Bow. Made from "composite materials including carbon fibre" with a tubular steel backbone Schaller magnetic double bass pickup with volume control. The electrics work fine (single coil magnetic pickup) and, being 'simple', allow the true tone of the bass to come through. Strung with a new set of Fender Black Nylon Flatwound strings - produce a more authentic DB sound + easier on the fingers (!). Well used, as can be seen on the photos - the paint on the back was very scratched from not being kept in a case - this has been re-coloured. The only damage (other than scratches) is a small dent on the front left lower bout - a chunk of the outer skin that had broken off. The inner skin appears undamaged and it doesn't affect the tone. The chip is (was) approx. 10mm in diameter and has been repaired with a high-quality enamel paint/filler (black) Cash on pickup preferred BUT can be posted: for this I would suggest removal of the bridge and shipping cost would need to be checked (est. £30) SOLD - pending payment/collection

This is a high quality & interesting (rare?) bass which has, unfortunately, experienced some neck (truss-rod) problems. I'd not seen one of this configuration before (twin DiM' style HB's . active EQ B+T and pickup selector switch, split bridge etc.) with a very attractive ash - maple (rosewood f/board) / amber finish... so was really disappointed to discover that the truss-rod nut had sheared at the top (beneath the cover) so that the somewhat U-shaped neck could not be adjusted back. I have managed to replace (personally) the truss rod and the action is now 'OK' and the bass playable (which it wasn't before) although there is still a slight up-bow in the neck (which seems stable). the truss rod might tighten a bit further but I didn't wan't to push it. Otherwise the bass is reall nice in terms of finish etc. and the pickups/electronics are fine. Would certainly make a good starter or 2nd/standby instrument, or could be further restored with either expertise, or ££ (or both). I did think of having it done professionally bu didn't feel it to be viable/sensible. Also thought of replacing the neck (still an option) as the pocket is pretty much std. J or P size. £ SOLD !!

A very tastefully modified Ernie Ball / Musicman Stingray - originally a 3-band EQ model which, along with the spectaular Status neck, features a Seymour Duncan Basslines pick-up and SD 3 band EQ. The controls are push-pull volume (coil tap), mid cut/boost and stacked bass/treble cut/boost. The jack input is now on the control plate however the original side-mounted jack socket/plate is still on the bass so you could easily switch back to standard Mman. The finish is excellent overall, though there are a few minor dings. The neck is 'perfect' : low action, solid as a rock, great feel and the whole instrument 'sings' and/or snarls, depending upon your approach. There's certainly plenty of the desired 'mwaaah'.. It's currently fitted with a set of the excellent (and expensive!) Thomastik flatwounds and recently had a set-up done. The body (EB MM) is Jan. 2000 from the serial number with the Status neck being slightly newer. £ SOLD !!!
