1.
Wasn't there a Jeff Berlin model of the same combo which didn't have a tweeter?
Sort of... The Jeff Berlin is a 1x15 combo. I played through the JB Players School version of his signature combo (cheaper, 250 watt version) and it sounds great. No tweeter also.
2. Hey guys! I'm afraid I'm gonna have to revive this old topic. So....Opened up my Mini CMD 121P combo and following the instructions on the original post managed to completely bypass the dreadful twitter. Water to wine! It's a way better sounding combo now and it really puzzles me why they just don't offer it like this as standard. Anyway... Now I wanna do the same to my NY 121 cab. I took the speaker out and had a look inside but it seems a bit more complicated with the L-pad and all that. Has anyone done this too? Please help!
3. Thanks for the kind words Dave and glad you're enjoying the cab as much as I did. PMs replied and last cab still here!
4. Sold Dave one of my lovely Orange cabs. Fast comms and even faster payment. He was cool enough to wait for me to have some spare time to source some packing material and drop off the parcel too. Great guy to deal with! True pro basschatter! Enjoy the new rig man!
5. Last cab! Grab it while you can! Makes the perfect mini rig with a Bass Terror too... Just saying Or any small amp. Perfectly capable cab on its own despite its size.
6.
definitely interested in splitting the cabs, this still on the cards?
Yep. One cab sold and only one left now!
7. Yeah, it does sound better now with some of those pros playing them. I've always loved the BBs and really hope this incarnation is a great one.
8. Yeah, but I'm pretty sure it's different pickups from the current ones. I don't know... I'm under the impression that these new ones are cheaper versions of the "old" 1024/5 and 2024/5. Of course I might be wrong, but that's my impression after watching the videos.
9. Hmmmm... I also don't like the sound of those pickups and I really wish I did. I have a feeling the about to be discontinued BB series is gonna become highly sought after in the near future.
10. PMs replied and cabs still here. Is anyone else interested in just one of the cabs for a monster but compact rig with their existing OBC115? Or to form a proper fridge with their OBC410?
11. Another tip. After I sold the SL112s I got a pair of Eden EX112s. They're a massively underrated cabs. Used that rig for a couple of years and only once at a massive festival stage it felt slightly underpowered. Played loads of gigs with the Tone Hammer and the two little Eden cabs and can't really complain about it.
12.
Hi thanks for the input. Was there something in particular you didn't like about the SL cabs? I have seen on other forums the Tone Hammer can get a bit muddy with certain cabinets?
I came from using the Tone Hammer with either a DB212 or DB 210... Or both. The amp sounded great with either cab and supreme with both. I did a long tour with the full rig and it put a big smile on my face night after night. Effortless power, insane tone, beautifully round and controlled bottom, plenty of definition (tweeters on both cabs always turned off). At the end of the tour I decided to get SL112s for smaller and unfortunately it didn't work for me. Muddy, lack of definition, compressed sound at higher volumes... Didn't like it at all.
13. I used to own the TH500 and two SL112s. My advice is: Spend your money with the TH500 and get another cab. There's lots of great second hand cabs here that are cheaper and way better than the SL112 in my opinion.
14.
These are great heads,I prefer mine to my Valve stuff at the moment. GLWYS.
I hear you man. I actually stopped gassing for an all valve head after I got the OB1. Orange really got it right with this amp.
15. Sold an amp to Ross in the smoothest of transactions. True gent! Deal with confidence. Thanks Ross!
16.
Very interested in the head. I'm in need of shifting a couple of bits of kit before I can bite, but if it is still here when I have the cash I'd certainly be up for it.
Cool man! Keep me posted
17.
Have been looking for one of those 2x10 cabs to match my OBC115 but London a bit too far for pick up plus i only need one of them. Those cabs are no longer made by Orange so they will be quite rare. GLWTS Dave
Hi Dave! Yes, indeed they've been discontinued and I don't understand why. And one of these would make absolute tone monster of a rig with an OBC115 which is another great cab! If anyone wants just one of the cabs we can talk business. I would be willing to pack it up and courier it to you. Cheers, Eddie
18. Bump for a great rig! Now with added sound clips. Check the links on the ad. Thanks!
19.
I've got one of these as a backup. if find the pre section to be very versatile. GLWTS
Thanks man! It is indeed a very capable little device in both pre and power amp department.
20. Hey guys, I'm selling here my VOX AMPHONE BASS practice headphones. It's basically a VOX AMPLUG mounted into a really nice set of Audio-Technica headphones. Very handy tool to practice at home and mainly on the go. It saved my life before last minute gigs a coupe of times. VOX blurb: http://voxamps.com/amphone What Victor Wooten had to say about it: https://www.youtube....h?v=lQnqi3c_9Cs I now have the AMPLUG which I can use with my in-ears so even more portable and this has become redundant. I'm asking £40 and we can meet up anywhere in London, or we can discuss postage. Here's what it looks like: Cheers, Eddie
21. Hello everyone, Up for a quick sale here my lovely little Ashdown MiBass 550. I bought this amp from someone on here a few months ago just as a backup and as an alternative to my full-sized amp, but I was so happy with the sound and portability I ended up using it more than I though I would. With one good high efficiency cab you can tackle small to mid-sized gigs no problem. With a couple of good cabs, or more... It's gets really LOUD! Despite its size, this is not a toy or a practice amp. This a fully gig ready professional cool little amp than you can carry in the gig bag for under 200 quid I also found this amp to be quiet transparent sounding and it responds really well to a preamp in front of it, or a distortion or overdrive. Minor cosmetic marks as I tried to show in the pics, but other than that the amp is in full working order. Here's what Ashdown has too say about it: http://ashdownmusic....98/MiBass-550-/ And here's a great review from a German website. If you don't speak German, just listen to the sound clips https://www.bonedo.d...mibass-550.html Pics: Collection from Central London, or meet up anywhere within the M25. Postage is possible at buyers expense. Cheers, Eddie
