  1. Just to inform all of you that MARUSZCZYK INSTRUMENTS are raising prices from very soon on all entry prices instruments.

as far as i understood standard instruments will now cost 1090 euros (from 950)

All current stock will stay at old prices but new stock orders will raise.

It has been a good year with again around 550 / 575 builds.

Hi all. I'm just trying out a Jake 5p.. wonder if anyone can help? The truss rod nut is about 15mm up inside the channel at the base of the neck (see pics) ..is that normal? There's some residual scuzz - glue or something - in there too. Could it have slipped? The nut is also maxed-out - it won't tighten any more - which is making me wonder if it's been abused.. The bass has 45 - 130 Ernie Ball Colbalt Flats on it which seem pretty high tension.. also wondering if the (quite thin) neck can handle them.. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Ben.

*edit - the neck has a little bit of relief in it with the truss rod fully tightened*

**edit 2 - it's also making a creaking/pinging sound when I loosen or tighten the strings. Anybody experienced this? I'm wondering if it could be something to do with the zero fret or nut.. or indicative of something else.. dunno**

    Hi ,

most likely been abused if you cannot tighten it anymore. I have sold 100+ of his instruments and personally own 3 ... i've always found his rods to be stupidly reactive ...

And me, I'd personally like a satin black finish with no grain though. Can't see any 5 string options on the website so I also think it must be a custom order. Would like to know pricing though.

custom Order indeed. Built for Slawek Semeniuk. Long Time Maruszczyk player and friend of mine.

Just picked up an Elwood 5A-24 in a trade, it's very nice, I wasn't expecting a tilt-back headstock on a Jazz style bass, it works well and looks fine from the front, but it's a little odd when playing. Are they all tilt-back heads, or is it an option when ordering.

Not too sure I'll keep this, but it will work a bit better for my Industrial band than my other shell pink jazz bass.

standard issue there. I think you can order a "normal head" when ordering if you wish too. I've noticed some basses with "birdeye" or "flame" neck as custom do have a straight head too .... other than that 99% of standard basses ill have angled back head

So I've managed to get a hold of a lovely Jake, courtesy of another Baaschatter, and I fancy changing the scratchplate. Anyone have any joy sourcing one? I wrote to  the <info at public-peace.de> address a couple of times to ask but got no response. Is there a better email address to use? Any ideas other than just getting one custom made?

definitely Sims custom shop. i've had pickguards done for old greco's etc.... stellar work

So...Maruszczyk owners! A few questions... I'm looking for the dream 5 string P/J, and was wondering if 1. There happened to be any Maruszczyk owners living in my neck of the woods (Devon/Dorset) who might let me play one, and also for those who bought new if you all went through public-peace, who seem to be the main site for the brand? Whats the general build time?

Public-Peace is their site indeed. Build time is now roughly 15 weeks.

I can't believe you got away with this picture without any further questions!

    Firstly, its bloody gorgeous!

Secondly, let's hear the specs mate, woods, electronics, scale etcs.

Finally, some sound samples or even video would be awesome.

Congratulations on a very sexy bass 😎

    Eude

    Hi ,

    .... hmmmmmmmm.....

34 , Walnut body , Ebony Board , Maple neck.

    Bassculture 38hb

the only reason i chose those pickups is cause my frog 5 has bassculture 48hb and i'm more than happy with the sound of it ..... not really anything more than that.

This is a worrying trend.  I had a number of issues with the finish of my last Elwood - including that it was supplied without the Luminlays that I had ordered and paid for!!  I decided not to post anything at the time because a) everybody gets things wrong once in a while and b) Adrian had no hesitation in sorting everything to my complete satisfaction.

The real test of businesses - and the people who run them - is how they respond when things start going wrong.  And the time when stuff typically falls apart is when they are having to expand in response to growing demand.  This is especially true of specialist skills-based manufacturing companies like Adrian's, so I do hope that he is able to manage the change that success has brought upon him.  His command of the English language is limited and I know he doesn't read this forum - hopefully our Pierreganseman is still following this thread and can convince Mr M that he is walking on thin ice at the moment.  Public Peace certainly won't be able to hide bad stuff from the market so their only chance is to respond in a way that can't be faulted.

Hi , i'm still following this indeed.

To me Adrian is one of the most up to his word person i've ever met. Despite an obvious language barreer I cannot say enough good things about him. He's mentored me into my business and is without a doubt sort of co-responsible for my sort of success.

Very nice! How was your experience shopping with Bass Freaks? I’ve never even thought to check them out but it looks like they have some very tasty gear on offer.

Hi , yeah... I :) ! We are all only humans but I can honestly say i try 110% to match people's expectations.

Dave's bass was actually Ex demo due to finding a scratch on it (god dammit I hate when that happens....) before concluding the deal.

That being said i'm sure some people would send out hoping he'd not see it and then go "oh really?" but I care too much about my rep as a seller to even think to risk that.

His bass was the lightest normal scale i've ever had in stock. Most Maruszczyk passive are about 3,5 kilo.

I've just sold a 32 inch Chambered J that went below 3 kilo. Which is pretty outstanding.

    cheers

Hi Pierre, thanks for your insights.

I was looking at your page www.bassfreaks.net for some info on Ateliers and its a great thing that you carry them.

I'm very impressed by this bass so far and would be glad if they had a greater European presence.

Ah so you know what I do lol. Yes started about 2 and a half years ago with something like 6 basses. Now its beyond surreal to be carrying Moon , Atelier Z .... jesus christ ....  O_O

a light Moon and Atelier Z is basically 4,2 to 4,5 kilo , anything less will be a mistake .....

i  adore them , the demo we did with a 4 Marcus miller style and the 5 JB M265 60's are my two basses ..... i love what they do but it takes time and people need to hear and see to start to believe.

    enjoy the bass

    Thank you!

This one is 4.33 kgs and balances really well. I was aware of Atelier Z's reputation of being heavy but that must have been a thing of the past to a certain extent as most of their basses I was considering buying were under 4,5 kgs.

I happen to like 18mm, this was actually one of the features I was looking for in my 'perfect' 5 string jazz.

We are currently dealing Atelier Z Basses and "good weight" still has to be custom ordered otherwise they will build a 5,3 kilo 4 string if not pointed out.

Its quite common to see 80's builds that are 6+ kilo (lol)....
