Book a trip over to Germany to pick it up. Make an event out of it - it's probably cheaper than the import duty!
They're just outside Aachen, or about an hour from Dusseldorf or Cologne, depending on where you want to fly to. Adrian or one of the other Public Peace guys will probably even pick you up from the airport if you arrange it in advance! It's a relatively feasible road trip if you wanted to do it that way too - get the ferry to Hook of Holland, and it's about a 3 hour drive via Tilburg and Eindhoven.
sure. I get many UK customers doing this. Very often much cheaper to fly or Eurostar over and take a crappy hotel.

What do the experts ( @cetera ) think of the Ethos series? Made by Cort in Korea…. they look really nice, but are they “Proper” Spectors? I’m considering one…..
I had one in stock - they are mad mad mad value for money to me. Not sure they're "proper" Spector , still amazing basses

Well, it arrived just now. I've not seen a bass packed like that before. The Parcelforce chap wasn't happy about it.
It has picked up a laquer chip on the top edge at the 6th fret since it was at Andy's but it's a fill and polish job for a day when I'm in the mood.
It probably deserves a NBD thread. We've well and truly hijacked this one

some people are mental shipping basses like that.... once a client returned a bass (which is his own right of course) and just gave the bagged bass to UPS without the outside packaging he received it with lol
laziness to the next level

very hard to say.
ive seen so many "weird things" dealing with Vintage Fender Japan so I would say very possible however They obviously go for so much less money.

If only they'd known about NAMM and Christmas and stuff before quoting a build time, these things are so unpredictable...

Update - we have a serial number! 6862. Apparently it's marked as "in production"
Not sure what that means in terms of timelines but it's something!!!
you'd have to count about 4 5 month from when it enters productions (I'm Bass freaks lol)

I`m considering a short-scale Jake, chambered & with Ultralites to keep things nice & light.
don't choose ash body - northern ash is heavier than most , Swamp ash is hugely inconstant weight wise
just had a short scale 4 Ash chambered with USA hardware that came to 3,8 (which is fine for me)

Hello all,
I'm considering ordering a Jake L from Adrian. I'm looking to go as light weight as possible and so am willing to pay extra for chambering and lightweight hardware. I was wondering how light I could expect the bass to be. Also, if there are any real world examples of the metallic purple that Maruszczyk uses, I'd love to see them as I can't find much besides one old reverb listing and know the configurator and real world don't always match up.
Thanks!
Dealer talking - I've had countless Jake in stock.
Standard hardware + Chambered = 3,3 to 3,5 kilos
USA hardware Ultralite bla bla + Chambered = 3 to 3,3
keep in mind this is not a science and the weight factor is VERY complicated to establish so those are rough estimates

Totally agree!
The trade off for the chinese models seemed good value when they were introduced at £1k or so, but now that they're getting to £2.5k (the price of an AB1 the last time I bought one in the not so distant past), I don't know anymore. There are a LOT of basses out there you can get with that kind of money.
absolutely agree - you can get so so so so many things for such prices.
now you cannot much if at all with their custom shop for less than 3,5 3,8k (I'm speaking in euro) but hey .... they have 2 and a half year waiting list officially (so probably closer to 3 year) so what can I say 🙂

Not a bad shout really, they Chinese basses do seem to be going up in price more than the Canadian, relatively speaking?
I'm not sure to be honest - I just suppose demand is far higher on import
I do think that Canadian are 10 galaxy further up from import - so if one is able to afford them I'd highly recommend them
absolutely world class

I was lucky and got my hands on one during the dingwall preorder so I’m all set 🤘Do you know how many of the 82 went to dealers then? I’m just very curious as to how many were actually available for the first preorder
what I can tell you is that 30 went to Europe
10 to Bass direct apparently
I know Dingwall sold a few direct - sold out in minutes .......
rest for North America I guess

That's interesting, definitely against everything I've read about it, that this colour is unique to this run?
as far as I understand that limited Run of 82 is sold out and has no plan for another one. Comes with a D tuner , Inlay on board , custom bag.
however a "production model" is planed for late 2023 too.
again as far as I understand : No D Tuner , standard bag , no inlay and will come in white , sea foam and black but for the rest will be identical ....
it's still very beginning so a change or error on my part is possible - never seen one in the flesh
I can tell you too they'll be a 5 string but I have no definite information on that
Looking into a Canadian Dingwall
