Muse, Paramore, and B.O.B. Covers that are pretty perfect? Definative sub here. Also, Enter Shikari too, they were phenomenal last night supporting 30 Seconds To Mars.

You should be fine, i had 5 covers by my band up on youtube. The likely truth is that your version is not the EXACT same as the original, so the WMG stuff that analyses every youtube video wont pick up on it. And its only stuff owned by Warner Music Group that ever causes any problems anyway it seems.

I think Kasim Sulton had the best job up until early this year when he quit (i think). He was the bassist for The Neverland Express which is the backing band for MeatLoaf. I must say, i think that would be one amazing gig to have.

How about a BassChat Tombola? We all put unwanted items in a thread and sell them for cheap (Depending on what it is) and all funds go toward the upkeep of Basschat?

My Favourites:
Jet - Are You Gonna By My Girl?
Black Stone Cherry - Blind Man
Busted - Air Hostess (just the intro)
Tool - Schism
Iron Maiden - Fear Of The Dark
A Wilhelm Scream - The Horse (The first verse is an awesome tapping riff)
And the one my singer wrote me for my bands latest original.

Anyone know any easy rock/punk/metal songs to learn by ear, as i want to learn and obviously don't want to start on something pretty hard. Any ideas will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
I haven't ever (in at least 20 years) miked a cab for a studio session.
Last Time i went in studio (First time ever actually) the guy took a DI from my combo, and miked it aswell, i let him set a good tone as he knew better than me, overall i'm very pleased with the sound, tweaked it slightly and using it as my new live sound, really punchy now, just like i want. Listen to it on the links in my sig if you like, it coulda been abit higher in the overall mix though -
Mine costs us absolutley nothing, and we have to provide all gear. Including the coats and heaters to keep us warm. If that place was ever rented out they'd get no business.

Welcome to basschat, im in bolton so not a million miles away, lots of cool guys n gals on here who dont get bored when you talk rubbish about basses like i do the for sale section is great as we can pass on great deals to our bretheren, nice stuff always coming up, i do like the vibe on here. hope you like it its addictive
I'm finding it very addictive, glad its not blocked in school. Also, i'm only around 5 miles from Bolton town centre so your probably pretty close.

5 String, but i'm debating going back to two 4 strings. One tuned EADG and one tuned DGCF, both with Hipshot D-Tuners. Wouldnt mean taking any more basses to gigs as i take my 5 and Ibanez tuned DGCF anyway. It'd probably be lighter as my 5 feels like it weighs more than an elephant

Damn, i live quite near to Manchester aswell, i coulda definately used this.

Musicman Bongo 6. Prime example of a 6 with MM Humbuckers.

Whoever picks this up is getting a damn good deal. I use the 150w 1x12 version and its KILLER. The tones are pretty tasty and vary so much it could be used for any genre, doesnt lack volume one bit either.

I feel kinda out of place. I personally don't care about the colour too much, i'm going to get my 1st bass refinished in Neon Pink as soon as i can afford it. I especially like anything neon, but i think certain things look better (Black n Maple) and the sunburst on my Squier Jazz Deluxe V is quite nice. Overall i don't care about colour, aslong as the whole look of the bass is decent, and it sounds and plays well, is light and in my price range, its all good.
EDIT: One finish i am absolutely loving right now is the Spector Holoflash. I think that is just one amazing finish.

I have a tuner ontop of my amp which i use between sets usually, if i sound like im a tad out i'll either use the one built into my amp or have a quick check in one of our tuning breaks (3 different tunings means lots of onstage tuning, for the guitarists anyway, i just got lazy and got a 5 string) so mine isnt in my signal chain at all. Infact my signal chain just goes Bass - Amp usually, i love not being able to afford anything.
