+1

Thats my bands situation at the moment, our local gigs in 2011 we have managed to pull a good 100+, mostly people who came specifically to see us, and then the locals in that pub, everyone starts to bring their friends along aswell so there always seems to be some new faces along with common ones.

Thats our full set from a gig late January ish, the songs that always go down well are in red. We're a pretty young band (15-17) with a young audience which probably contributes to that though. Some other songs i find go down well with our crowd are Nickelback covers, we used to do How You Remind Me and Another Hole in The Head, along with really fun and upbeat things such as the Ghostbusters Theme Tune.

  3. Looking at that i have a high suspicion that that bass was the exact same after that song as it was before, a tech most likely caught it. Slash, Alex Gaskarth and Taylor Swift have all thrown guitars and had their tech catch them. Either way, he can afford it, and i would do that to a Fender.

  4.
Now THAT'S a question :) The idea of an active 2x15+horn pair is very appealing, BUT unless you're always playing on stages a couple of feet high you're right, they'll be too low on their own and a lot of your sound will be lost into the front row/dancefloor/whatever.
My mates band just grab 2 tables from wherever they are and put ther 2x15's on them, works rather well.

My band use a Behringer Europower PMX2000 (250w per side) into 2 1x15+ horn Warrior cabs (8ohm, 300w each) and 2 1x12 Peaveys (8ohm, 200w each) for 2 vocals and possibly a keyboard. Works fine for what we need, backline handles the rest.

  5. I've had a dabble on an old SR1005 sometime in the past, it was a good bass from what i could tell. The US have a much better range of Ibanez basses than we do here. They still have the SR100x, 200x (if i remember correctly), the SR706, the lower end BTB's.

  6. Way i do it is on the first bar i play A then E, hammer on to the G, then again onto the A, then to C. 2nd bar i play A, then E, hammer on G, pull off to E, hammer on to G again. 3rd time round i play A then E as normal, and then hammer on to the G, again onto the A and pluch the A again. last bar i play C D C A G. Hope that helped, sounds right to me when i play it live. (Pretty often)

  7. I told my dad i wanted a guitar one day sometime in 2007. A few weeks later he came home with a battered 1994 Fender Squier Affinity Jazz Bass and a 40w keyboard amp. That bass had the worst action ever, absolutely battered, grounding problems, covered in rust, etc... but i loved it, in the process of rebuilding it at the moment. I started playing for no reason at all, i just wanted to play a guitar of some sort.

  8. I have a Warwick ProFet 5.1 head that i'm considering possibly trading. Its 500w at 4 ohms, rack mount, 4 band EQ, compressor, bright and deep switches. I'm not using it much as i don't have a cab, so i have only used it for a few gigs and about 5 or 6 practices since i bought it at christmas. It has a few marks on it, and is missing the cap for the compressor switch (Merely cosmetic, still easily useable) but is in pretty good condition overall.

    Missing compressor switch cap:

Looking for a 210/112 combo, atleast 300w with extension cab capabilities, such as the Ashdown MAG 300 210 or the Marshall MB4210, or possibly a micro head. Can meet up in Bolton or Manchester mainly, but i also visit Bradford quite often so there is also possibility

  9. I frequently gig a Line 6 Lowdown LD150 with my band and it sounds pretty good. Its starting to lack in power a little as i now have it EQ'd better and its a tad quieter, but the sound is rather impressive. I think the LD175/300/400 would be damn good gigging amps, but the 150 lacks on power for my needs. Got a Warwick ProFet 5.1 now though, much more power, just have to find some money for a cab.

  10.
...but if you were to stick that on tour it wouldn't last a week...
Zoltan Bathory of Five Finger Death Punch has been using 2 Relay G90 systems since they came out, on tour, every night, with no problems. I have seen a few others using them aswell but i can't remember their names.

  11. Usually once a week, but we havent had one for atleast a month now, we've had gigs for the past 5 weeks so fitting in band practice around school/college, gigs, basketball practice (for the other 3), and general socialising isnt that easy. We don't always need to practice though, just to add new songs and write some more originals.
