  1. Yep right way round. I'm just a teenager at heart doing my 70's Glam Rock thing in the 2nd pic. Dave
  2. Me mid-80's Me last end last year 2019
  3. Enjoyed that. Great song for a cover.
  4. 47 Just a boy @Lunatique but well done getting back into bass again. its been my hobby for 45yrs now. I'm not a genius or master bass player but i get along ok and enjoy what i do. As i've gotten older and back into playing in bands again at age 50 i've found i'm not trying to impress people / bands with fancy tricks and solos. I just play whatever the song needs whether originals Prog or my current 70's Glam Rock covers and its more relaxed now. I do like to push myself a little at home tho mainly to retain my stamina when playing longer gigs. Dave
  5. i just downloaded Rhythm stick tab as i keep meaning to learn it too. Not heard of Sir Duke so gonna google that one. Dave EDIT :- Stevie Wonder and i do recognise it now. Just didn't know that's what it was called
  6. And i bet there are some great stories to tell. Hard graft but must be very rewarding to see the finished product.👍 Dave
  7. Might be worth mentioning what style of music you play. If i remember right @mcnach you tend to favour a Reggae / Ska low end tone. Correct me if i'm wrong there. Just in case others are looking for a brighter top end twang. Every little bit of info can help people decide if its for them or not. Personally i have everything flat on mine and both pick-ups on centre position. If anything i will boost the bass a touch but tend to use my amp for most of it. On occasion i've moved a touch towards the humbucker depending on what i'm doing. I've tried the full active P on its own but just prefer the centre position which gives me that little bit more mid tone. My curent tone is pretty nuetral in the mix tho which is what i was looking for in my current band. Not to everyone's taste but i love it. Great basses to play tho. Dave
  8. Bowie Ziggy Stardust. Lot of wee fiddly bits to learn for next rehearsal. Trevor Bolder does so many hidden gems in his bass lines. Love it, always have done. This is the first time i've ever played it in a band. Dave
  9. Your career seems to have gone round the houses a bit there but you've ended up doing a job that must be quite rewarding. Well done. Dave
  10. Retirement is brilliant. I finished up 4 yrs ago at 55 and loving it. Dave
  11. I've tried that with flats and its pretty close and sounds like some P's i've heard but the classic P sound i have in my head it isn't quite there. I would say that when playing live it would be difficult to tell the difference if at all. For me the VM4 is a far better built bass with a fantastic neck. You also have the added bonus of going active if required using that humbucker gives a nice mid boost to the P pick up. Dave
  12. I'm onto this now. Probably my all time fav album.
  13. That made me listen to this
  14. 2 metres apart. You must have a huge house for all those basses between you.
  15. This thread could go viral
  16. My Fender Jazz. Its just so nice to play.
  17. Noted that Hold The Line by Toto isn't on the list. Dave
  18. Well done to you guys. Big believer in donor system. 👍 Dave
  19. Think you might be the first full time musician so far. Your prize is in the post. Dave
  20. Life, the Universe and Everything
  21. I saw them just over £350 when i did a search for them altho i struggled to find much about them. I'm guessing i've seen the wrong thing somehow. How much are they ? Dave
  22. Keep us posted John. Maybe you should have created a new build topic on how you did all this and how you will do the next set. Being a Prog fan i've always fancied a set but as you say Taurus are just ridiculous prices even 2nd hand. The Crumar Bassman looks quite impressive too. Dave
  23. We bit of Dave Kerzner.
  24. CofE are doing pretty good. Big following these days John. Gigging with Pallas aint too bad. I'm quite the fan of both bands. We used to rehearse in Cumbernauld when you guys were in and i even bought a MB combo and ext cab based on what i heard form yours in the studios. Dave
