My new band that plays old school r&b (think Dr Feelgood) and have 18 songs in the first set, and 19 songs in the second set, mind you, some are as short as 1.45 seconds but its great fun playing these no-nonsense, in-yer-face, pub rock songs ๐

ChunkyMunky, you are a star!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this video for me, it was really bugging me because it should have been so simple to work out, which I suppose it is really, but I just had a mental block on this.๐ค Once again, many thanks.๐

Thanks, I will try that out later

So it IS a "pink torpedo up" at the beginning then? I thought it might be, because for the rest of the song, what I play sounds fine ๐

One Weekend - Dr Feelgood For the life of me I just can't work out what notes are being played in the intro, my ears tell me its G E C D GGCBG D but when I play along with the song, it just doesn't sound right. ๐ I've just formed a new Dr Feelgood tribute band and have learn't 37 songs in just a few weeks without any problems except for the intro on this one. Epiphone Thunderbird - disuade me, please. TONESTYLER and SANDBERG CONTENT

I was just about to state the obvious about the neck dive on these things but you have already made your mind up. I had a Gibson Thunderbird a couple of years ago, it sounded great, looked great, and I really wanted to keep it, but the neck dive was horrendous so it had to go ๐- 162 replies

UPDATE!!! More Courier Problems! This time it's MyHermes
thebrig replied to thebrig's topic in General Discussion
Well after going missing for 18 days since being collected from my house on 2ndMarch, I get an email from P2Go this morning saying that they had located the parcel, and that it is on its way to the buyer of my Sadowsky Preamp. As I had already refunded the buyer, I contacted P2Go via the online โlive helpโ to ask them to cancel the delivery because I had already refunded the buyer in full. Anyway, not long afterwards the buyer contacted me to say that he has received and would pay me the money, which he did in due course. So to sum up, whilst this has all been very inconvenient for the buyer and myself, at least they did manage to find it in the end and everyone is happy. Although I am losing confidence in courier companies the more I use them. Btw, the buyer is a fellow BC'er and the communication between us has been great.๐ -
Personally, I think ยฃ159 for a brand new beautifully finished body is an absolute steal, its nice to start off with a really nice body imo, because it inspires you to get the best parts you can afford within your budget and go on to create a really nice build. Here's my sunburst "bitsa" which has a lovely Mighty Mite Jazz neck fitted, it plays better than my 2016 Fender American Standard and sounds every bit as good for a fraction of the cost. ๐
-
I can recommend the bodies that Northwest Guitars sell, they are fully finished for just ยฃ159, I have had a sunburst and an olympic white one and the quality of the finish is fantastic.
-
Here's his original sunburst I wonder how much this would be worth now?
-
Sorry, I meant to say the one in the photo ๐ค
-
I think his P bass in the video was fiesta red
-
Might just do that, cheers

Whether he is one of the greats in terms of bass playing, I'm not really qualified to say, but I always admired his ability to play those melodic baselines and sing at the same time, something I always find hard to do. ๐ค

Does cites affect private sales from outside the EU?
-
Thanks for the heads up but I really want to go 32" if possible
-
You've made a good job of that, nice work! The type of material I'm playing now in my new band requires a lot playing high up, so making something similar could be a problem ๐ค

No probs, at least they are now investigating and have opened a case, albeit, via online helpline ๐ -
Thanks, I did see that one, but I had one made a couple of year's ago by Maruszczyk, but I couldn't get on with the flattish board, although I believe Maruszczyk give you the option of 9 1/2" radius now
-
Don't mind, but I think that even with used basses regardless of their age, they have to have a certificate to prove that they are in fact, pre cites. I'm worried that if I were to import one and it doesn't have the certificate, then it will end up being seized by customs and I could end up losing my money. ๐ค
-
Does anyone know where the best place is to look for a Medium Scale P or J Bass? There are a few in Japan and the USA, but apart from the import duties, I would have the cites certificate to contend with because I would prefer a rosewood board.

Totally agree, it puts you off selling anything these days unless the buyer is reasonably close enough to collect or meet halfway. -

I don't suppose you still have the contact number by any chance? I've Googled for it but the only numbers that come up are automated just for tracking purposes, there are no options that will take you through to speak to someone. -
I sold my Sadowsky Bass Preamp DI Box to a fellow BC'er just over a week ago, the transaction between us went smoothly and with great communication. I packed it in plenty of bubble wrap and put it in a strong cardboard box, I then sealed it with loads of 2" packaging tape and attached the address label that I downloaded from Parcel2Go, the package was then collected from my home on Saturday 2nd March by MyHermes, but has not been scanned since and is now lost in the system. Neither Parcel2Go or MyHermes can be contacted by telephone, so I sent MyHermes a message via their online messaging service, they replied that because I booked their service through Parcel2Go, I would have to contact them, so I then sent Parcel2Go a message, and they said they would contact MyHermes but it would take at least two working days for them to respond, so I then decided to send Parcel2Go a message on their FaceBook page and at least they are replying to me, but I am now having to deal with them via the FB messaging service which I think is appalling, I've asked them for a telephone number so I can actually speak to someone, although I don't hold out much hope of getting one. I just don't understand how a parcel can go missing between my home and the depot. Here is a screenshot taken a few minutes ago (12th March) of the tracking, as you can see, it was collected 2nd March at 10.36am and then disappeared without trace! ๐

It's actually working ok at the moment but if it cuts again, I will check the solder joint, cheers.
