5. I've had this happen to me before. I tend to find that my rig/bass set up sounds different at different venues, guess it's got somehting to do with acoustics and stage depth and so on..... I've always found it best to strip back to basics and get a really sweet, clean tone - literally bass - lead - amp and the add FX later. I've also found the benefit of getting a good pre amp/DI, like a SansAmp, Tone Hammer or Hartke Bass Attack; this way you can pretty much take your sound with you and the FOH engineer can take a DI signall straight out, so hopefully you can be sure that the sound you're hearing on stage is the sound out front. I don't leave home without mine! I also used to use Big Muff and as it was great for adding fuzz, it was pretty rubbish at adding that hardcore distortion - for this I use a Boss Bass OD (the yellow one!) I've heard about these Auralex Gramma? pads too... don't know if that would help, perhaps you could add more bass without getting the boom. I guess you don't want to throwing money about on a new rig!?
 6. Offers/Trades? Anybody wanna swap me for a Head or even a SansAmp (wishful thinking!?)
 7. I found the VU Meter on my old ABM Evo to be completely unrelated in any way to the amp - but it does look cool...... ahhh glowy! Sorry..... but I throught the preamp section was good, but let down by those god awful blue line speakers they put in.
 8. Still available! Lovely bass for the money..

 10. I've been toying with this idea for a while now.. Having purchased this bass last year, I have gigged it, probably only about twice, but due to it having the humbucker style pickups, as oppose to the standard J pup, I'm not sure I can personally get the sound I'm after! Don't get me wrong, this is a quality instrument and in mint condition and in my opinion, outweighs it's £401 price tag that I paid for it, in terms of quality. I'm asking [s]£325[/s] £295 for this or I'd be willing to listen to trades for maybe a Mexican Jazz/Precision or a rack mount head or a CV/VM Tele Bass. I've included some photo's below for you to have a butcher's at! I'm based in Leeds and can deliver within reason, or post at the buyers expense. I'm always open to offers for trades, so try me! Cheers http://s1336.beta.ph...177752952491755 http://s1336.beta.ph...177752952491755 http://s1336.beta.ph...177752952491755

 13. Price drop to £150 - or rack mount bass head? Anyone? HA2500??
 14.
Money? You can earn money from music?!?!?
What? Nobody told me this! seriously though, I don't even think in my 15 year gigging career, I'm even, nor will I ever be close to even breaking even..... But the buzz you get from playing a good gig, to a load if punters that are digging it is priceless. So I've been told.
 15. Hi Folks, I'm thinking of moving on my Spector Performer 4 DLX - It's finished with red flame top and fitted with EMG p'ups. Plays really well and has a nice low action. Has a big sound, that you'd come to expect from a Spector. Trouble is, It's just not getting the 'air' time it deserves. So, I'd be more interested in a trade and I'm keen on a CV/VM Squier Jazz or P, or a Overwater (Tanglewood) P/J bass - but I'd consider pretty much anything, even a cab. Sale wise, I'd be after about £170, but I'm open to offers (fnar..). I'm based in Leeds and can deliver or post at buyers expense, NOW WITH ADDED PICS!! So, thanks for looking! 16.
I myself, have not had the misfortune to come across many of these types, but have had more than my fair share of drunken louts who spill drinks liberally and feel that they have a right to manhandle my gear. many times we have returned from the toilet and found drunks posing with our guitars holding them by the head stock etc. if we are playing in tight pubs, Ive seen drinks being put on my amp as we were playing. Its not very nice and sometimes you have to bite your lip to avoid the situation developing. I dont mind facing off these morons, but when my gear is at risk, its a no win situation
I've had this happened to me, until I nearly went all 'Keith Richards' on them! From then on, my bass stays firmly in the case.....
 17.
Yes, that's more like it - in my experience anyway. Funny how everyone here is always banging on about how great the BC community is, but then slags off our fellow bass players as a bunch of gear-destroying morons who can't be trusted with so much as a spare cable.
I'm pretty swure all the 'destroyers of gear' out there, don't use Basschat!! Can you imagine, if some oik turns up at a gig and you started banging on about impedance? 'So mate, I've got 8 ohms here.... 'Bloody hell, you must be rich to afford 8 houses!' 'Anyway, can I use your amp?' I'm also a bit uncomfortable with lending gear, because I get a bit attached to stuff. Like when I got rid of my Ashdown Combo, I hated the damn thing, but I had to say my goodbyes before it went.....
