2. Thinking of sellin my vt-2 to help fund a new bass

its a fantasticly versitile pedal, im sure most on here have heard about it from dave himself.

its powered by 2 ehx tubes, which can be swapped for higher or lower gain tubes for different tones and gain levels, making for a stupidly versitile bit of kit.

this thing can do anythin from a beautiful break up overdrive to a very high gain synth like fuzz if both tubes are maxed (the only pedal iv ever owned that imo nails the muse hysteria/time is running out tone, and i have owned countless big muffs, a deep impact, and loads of other distortions)

This version, as said, is the dual custom bass version, which has 2 tubes, 2 channels, and a 3 band eq, in additon to all the usual features.

i really dont wanna part with this, but its my only way of makin money, and il have to make do with the distorions on my GT-6B.

Please check out dave's site for all the info.

    SOLD

  3.
I sold mine to a forumite for £200 posted. Personally I don't think it's worth much more than that - you could buy a few wacky pedals for that!
it isnt worth more than that sound wise, personally i think its worth alot less, but you could have got a good £100 more, least your loyal to basschatters :)

  4.
I bought one for £50, then realised I didn't really have a use for it so sold it for £85. I guess I should have hung on to it for a while.
for your sake i hope you didnt do that recently! :)

  5.
ok so after trying out a number of pedals in a shop on denmark street, london, i thought i'd give this one a whirl.

the pedals basically two things - a clean boost (up to +20dB) and an overdrive with gain, tone and volume controls.
first the good stuff...the boost section is excellent - very clean sounding and it drives my ampeg pre-amp superbly...just adding a bit of grind and bite to the sound. yes, there's noise there if you crank it all the way up to 20 (!!), but that's just what you'd expect.

now...the overdrive....not so good. it sounded nice in the shop, through a smallish amp, but through my rig it's just ugly sounding at anything over 1/3 gain...past this you start to get a nasty clipping sound that reminded me of putting too much signal into a PC soundcard...horrid and totally unmusical.

the tone control didn't help much in taming this either. at very high gain levels it get more musical (less ugly clipping) but then i don't need a high gain pedal...i've a few of those already.

so i returned it to the shop, and they were more than happy for me to swicth it for the MC-401, which is basically the boost section only. got a credit note for the balance.

10/10 for the boost, 3/10 for the overdrive
active bass?

  6.
Have you tried the XP-100? It sounds better than the WH-4 IMO.
not actually tried it no, but i thought it had the same problem as the whammy 2 and bass whammy, that stupid input gain thing that most of the time made notes decay dissapointingly quickly?

  7. dont bother with the whammy 2 or the xp100, they arnt very good compared to the original and 4

iv had the original and 4th, the original was definaty better sounding, was alot warmer and tracked and sustained far far better. but if you dont use the harmonies much and you just want one to mess around with the whammy functions, then the 4 will do fine. i sold my 4 for £120, and my original for £300

  8.
Loads. Really like the q-tron as it turns out, wasn't sure if I would or not. Also that little delay pedal is a peach.
    Hi John,

The board is a Gator Pedal Tote Pro and there's a Gator power supply which is tiny and sits underneath the board.

As for the Opto Stomp, I took a bit of a chance on it as I just wanted a simple but effective compressor. It is exactly that, set it and forget it. It's the kinda compressor that you'll only notice when it's not there, if that makes sense. I really like it a lot.
glad your enjoying it!

  9.
Here's my little corner of FXdom...

    Chain is: BSW -> Micro Q-Tron -> BBS Opto Stomp -> ODB-3 -> GE7B -> Cool Cat 18v -> DOD Phaser -> Artec ADL2 -> Behringer DR100 -> TU-2 -> ART ZDirect DI
havin fun? :)
