1. My 11 year old just wondered by singing God gave rock and roll to you ... Weird or what? Apparently he heard it on the radio this morning but he already knew it from somewhere ..
 2.
Not 'bots but definitely badass! Alex
Oh I saw those but didn't spot the barefaced thing .... Cooooool
 3.
I'm waiting for the Lemmybot for the next Barefaced design! Alex
Can't find it on the Robot or tee shirt site .. Got a pic? Are you giving one away free with each cab bought?
 4.
Now, sorry if this causes any offence to either; a) the vertically challenged amongst us, or Argent fans, or c) vertically challenged argent fans...but i'm sorry, not only is the song itself absolute sh*te and verging on the comical, but the guy who plays bass on it looks like a demented Munchkin on speed....i speak of course about the Old Grey Whistle Test Vol 2 version in all it's pythonesque glory You should really have look if only to re-affirm just how important image is
Back to teh orginal topic .. One of the benefits of being a bass player for those of us not gifted in the looks/height/thinness department is that peopel generally don't notice us Thank Gawd ....
 5.
Hi Thanks for such a really useful thread ! we are a function band looking to get well paid weddings / functions in our area (south west) We are struggling for google rank after a recent re design and change of hosting. I have tried a google addwords campaign that seems to have helped ?????? but the increase in traffic could be for other reasons. If you could have a quick squizz I would be very grateful. www.limitedcompany.co.uk Thanks Owen
PM'd
 6.
I think it's cheesy and a bit comical too - certainly not deep , meaningful or challenging. and the problem with that is......?
.......... No mention of moon june croon spoon?
 7.
ooh this is a good place to sort a dispute between me and the guitarist in my band. we're trying to decide what picture to use of me on the homepage, they all got a photo from a couple of gigs ago, but there weren't any good ones of just me from that gig, so my guitarist decided to use a really old one. this - i don't like it much, its really old, it was a picture of me with an old band, not the current band, and i just don't like it. i like this picture from our last gig - but he prefers the first one and i don't have the password to the myspace, so i can't sneak on and change it and hope he doesn't notice. what do you think, the first one or the second one?
Second one without a doubt. Out of focus doesn't matter at this size but playing your bass at the audience and not shoegazing is so much better
 8. Is this the vid mentioned in the OP?
 9.
I was there too and I thought the lyrics were cheesy. Sorry.
No need to be sorry on my account.
 10.
I'd be happier with Hold Your Head Up than the other one.
As a young snapper the words meant a lot "If you want to be a singer or play guitar, Man you gotta work or you won't get far It's never too late to work 9-5"
 11. Sorry to go against the flow here but hold your head up and Gawd gave rock and roll to you were outstandingly brilliant rock pop songs in their day.
 12. Mine's arrived. Good quality. Really pro design and it's even got my jammin' white P bass on it (well, apart from the scratchplate colour) I'm a happy bunny Thanks, Paul

 18. Best thing to do is to assemble a load of tracks that you like the sound of and then discuss them with Alan at ACG. He's by far the best person to help you decide on stuff that will make the bass sound the way you want it to. There are so many variables!
 19. Mark's great and an affiliate on here too... PM him and he may even give you a few quid off http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showforum=46

 21. This is a provisional date right now as I'm about to go on holiday and I've not had a chance to look at the possible venue but .. Pencil this date into your diary .. Sunday 29th November. Somewhere in the Cardiff area. That's all for now We'll do a proper posting when we've got it all together. OG and Drewie Edit: Info and sign up thread Here
 22. Learn to play the likley tunes without using any open strings. That way up or down a tone will generally be fairly easy to do, especially on a 5. Bass is the easiest instrument to transpose on, generally, as its just the same pattern staring in a different place. and no, you can't ask them to change key to fit around you. That's just not on. if you find the tune on Chordie some of them have a transpose option on the right hand side. Eg here's Summer of '69 (Bowling for Soup version) Try it in a few keys.
 23. Here's me with Pluck and Squeeze, the Welsh Twmpath band I dep with on the Stagg and this what the punters were up to: That's a dance move called the basket. The guys are spinning fast and the women are flying
 24. Welcome Phil! Sounds like a nice collection +1 on getting it out in the porn thread .. There's a few of us in the S Wales area. What's your band called?
 25. That's Chris Squire's covers band in 1968. His orginals band was having trouble getting punters into the Dog and Duck ....
