1. Come on in and have a seat.
 2.
I reckon they're the same person. The names are far too similar. Not to mention the Buffalo Stance. Dead giveaway.
Yeah, specially when she was on TOTP when about 10 months pregnant. Classy nose thumb to Daily Mail readers ...
 3.
It has always been the classic track.. but every band and their dog does it now...which is the type of song I tend to want to leave well alone. I don't see then point of going to see every band do the same set...well, you know what I mean....
Really? Oh dear.. No one round here's done it whilst I've been in the room .. Doesn't mean they don't though
 4.
Haha, I saw that. No he wasn't quite that nerdy although he did have glasses. He ended up marrying a rather foxy fitness instructor, I mean I really liked the guy and he was a top musician too but how he bagged her I'll never know.
One of the glossy womens magazines had a cover headline this month "who are the good ones in bed? Hint: the nerds are" or something like that.. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong
 5.
|| Sold || But ask me about the black one
Sold and the black one is on hold but 57's come up all the time so let me know if you'd like me to watch out for one for you.
 6.
Mrs Zero is obviously an enthusiastic, stalker level fan then. She likes to get along to as many gigs I play as she can, but she doesn't come to every one. I've never finished up with a lady (or even a non-lady) from playing a gig. Mind you, I do seem to get some glances, and you never know what might have happened on a few occasions if I weren't happily married...
Ha ha Ok You lucky man.. Mind you she does play/call with one of yrou bands so that's cheating a bit
 7.
It's different.. at least it gets away from the original but I fear it will spawn a whole new host of cover versions for pub bands which we can do without, IMV.
Ha ha Best not come to see my pub band then. This version has just been added to the "tah do list"
 8. This version of Nina's version is good too
 9.
Any of you watched themovie "sex drugs n rock n roll" out awhile ago??....quiet a good watch if you were a Dury/Chas Jankel fan.
That's on Virgin paid for movies right now..
 10. Played a very odd wedding on Sat. Young couple with no mates, apparently. 6 vicars in the small audience and a hymn to round off the speeches as we were setting up on the nice stage behind a curtain Many vicars and spouses passed us en route to their cars as we picnicked on the grass before starting. This did not look good but with 6 services to do in several churches they all had to go and write sermons etc, or so they said.. Maybe it was our Hawaiian shorts an shirts roady clothes that put them off... Started with just 30 family and a few vicars left.. "Oh," we thought "their young mates will be along in a minute to celebrate and dance the night away til the scheduled end time of 11" Wrong. At 9 the bride and groom asked for the last dance as everyone was so tired. One more called dance and that was it, except it wasn't. We just played on at the request of the liveliest of the guests and no one minded. We played about 6 more requests whilst they cleared the hall, sang along and did some impromptu freestyle jiving. Then we packed up and went home early. Got home at 1 instead of 3 which was very nice but felt like I still had half a gigs' worth of playing to do... Initially I thought they'd booked the wrong band but then the bride's brother came over and said our show was the most fun they'd had for ages and had made his sister's day... Takes all sorts...

 12.
Cheers Simon, now if I can just persuade the frontman/singer/guitarist to turn up for gigs not looking like he's doing the bloody barbecue we might get a bit of image sorted out!
Yeah. It's a constant battle with people who just don't get it...

 16.
I've been seduced by a bass far too often and rushed ahead with a deal only to be disappointed further down the line (i guess many have!) i think its time i did it right and found the perfect bass for me - money be damned! Good to know about Jon Shuker, I'll try and grab him on the phone to arrange a visit. Where exactly is he based?
Here http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/ and a secret bunker near Hope in Derbyshire..
 17.
Also I don't get the people who have commented that they use the their band to get away from their wife/girlfriend/SO. For me music is pretty much the most important thing in my life and I couldn't even contemplate being in a relationship with someone who wasn't as enthusiastic about (mostly) the same music as me. Maybe that's why I'm single...
Only the most enthusiatic, stalker level, fan will want to see you play every single gig and, personally, I'd not want one of those as a partner ... Plus when you have kids and big jobs outwith the band it just isn't possible or practical.
 18.
Any update on your saga? .... I'm about to pull the trigger on a Shuker and this does not exactly inspire confidance .... I was also talking to Alan in ACG and at least he has been upfront and told people he is swamped and holding back on taking new orders until existing ones are taken care of .... Hope to read good news from you soon!
As has been said many times on this forum, with any custom the time they say it will take to build is best doubled to avoid disappointment and frustration. Jon is always "ambitious" about how fast he can build them. Just don't make the mistake of discounting Jon for your bass because of this one small thing. Once the end result is in your hands all that becomes irrelevant.
 19. Bass Face entry right there I know that feeling ... Suddenly the difference between real months and luthier months is of zero significance ... Fantastic looking bass, congratulations
 20.
Taken last night. new band to me (only 6th gig) and a chance to don my newly aquired hat. Rther a sweaty gig but people were coming up and saying how much they'd enjoyed it afterwards so must be getting a few things right...
Oh the new hat looks fantastic and just right. Good choice...
 21.
Goodness, I'm as lightend as could be! OG BTW you'll know who Chick Murray is surely?
Yeah but I don't get the reference.. Anyway welcome to Saturday
 22.
Yup, I mean it, what didn't you understand? Patronising? I suppose so....Ah well
Goodness, Lighten up. We've covered this subject a number of times, It's not at all childish as "getting women" is often cited as one reason for playing in a band. Indeed for playing any instrument. Sure it's usually lead singers who get the attention but that's the point of the thread.
 23.
I was out with some friends, including a lady who was 'the plan' and pretty much in the bag as it were. Nice lady, but the second glance you give her might not be for the 'right' reason. Her much hotter friend I'd not met before comes up and says to me 'I hear you play bass, what do you have? I've got a washburn.'. Total ah dammit moment. Stuck with the bird in the hand, worked out pretty well for a bit. Still wonder what could have been though.
You could go and see her band and, afterwards, ask her which input socket she prefers, how much compression she uses, preferable scale length, and how loud she gets. Hummmmmmmmmm Joe Jackson was right, it is different for girls....
 24.
Yes, but they're usually drunk and being egged on by their drunk mates. Honestly...don't they know anything? Thats no way to start a deep and meaningful relationship based on trust and respect.
"Root admin" eh? C'mon Steve, Spill the beans PS is there a "Fifth admin" too?
