You are Ricky Martin's live in lover and I claim my £5.
I'll double it so you can live la vida loca too. -
So people often say "you owe me a new keyboard" and I don't believe them, but it was pretty close whether I spat the coffee over the laptop or back in the cup.
Aw sorry bud. Next time you're in Aberdeen just pop in by and I'll give you one of ours. Oh and yeah, I'm just going to say it ... Ricky Martin never spits. -
I'm really upset that this is a maple/rosewood thread about what really counts... the looks. Maple fan here btw.
Yeah, but H&S is a damn big umbrella - and in that kind of climate a damn big umbrella is a handy thing to use when other folk want their arses covered.
I'm a traditionalist... I prefer keks. I imagine that an accidental umbrella/arse deployment situation wouldn't be a pretty sight. -

Whoa this thread's got affa' heavy. In summary ; it's not all that ironic that the top name performers had the plug pulled on them (despite umbrage being taken about it being mentioned on here at the pub gig level) as rules are rules and there were a lot of people who died in the 70's once and that could happen again and besides the people behind the scenes might have been late home for cocoa... there may or may not have been any over-run depending on who to believe... the concept of saying "f*ck it let's have one more tune" is frowned upon in these boards... rock n roll is dead. Thanks farmers wife. -
I sense a lot of anger in this thread. I know how you feel, people - I, too, thought we did not negotiate with terrorists. The next time Springsteen holds 80,000 people hostage, we should send in the SAS and clear the job lot out. Worse than the Somali pirates, these buggers.
-
I hope he had to hang around for ages trying to find the promoter for his fee just to make it a proper English gig night.
And it's not an exclusively English phenomena either - we are still a few hundred quid short in our band bank account from our last gig 2 weeks ago... apparently it's been transfered, it just hasn't been cleared yet. Promoters eh. -
I should have expected that, walked right into it, with my big size 12's. Touche!
Hehe
Thats shocking, nowt Fender about it.....apart from the aftermarket neckplate that someones stamped a poor quality number on, rendering it to also be worthless.
I know it's shocking when people fake up Fenders. (only joking)

'classic' stingray vs stingray - are they worth it?
Are you talking about bass playing?
Oh I'm in quite enough trouble over in General Discussion without casting aspersions here. -
Actually, I think its the battery. It fits fine with the battery removed! But it would be a very simple job to get the cavity deepened - it literally just needs a couple of mm
Yep the pcb is recessed to accept the battery in a standard J cavity (my J-retro is anyway) and the way you've described it the battery is in contact with the edge of the pcb so the same caution is advised. Knew it wouldn't hang about though.

I think that's out of order too. I wouldn't be so upset by it as to say it's grossly irresponsible or anything - you know that's just rock and roll to me But having gone 1 maybe 2 songs max over our limit occasionally in my entire lifetime of gigging, I agree half an hour over for an open event is pushing it. Although the topic was more about the irony in how even the big guys get a ticking off as well as us little leaguers, rather than if in fact an "offence" had been committed which is why I'm guessing we are getting the big reaction from some guys here. -
What's with all the Springsteen hate on here? Thought there'd at least be a little bit of love for the boss (and the excellent Mr Gary W Tallent) round these parts.
Well according to that Seven Ages of Rock programme that was on the telly a while back, he sold out and single handedly sounded the death knell for all credible rock music.... thus driving it undergound for folk like me to enjoy.
If they were just rounding off the last song and saying goodbye then it seems a bit harsh chopping them off at that point.
Ah but if a what was said few posts back is anything to go by, if there was an ounce of professionalism in his body he should have been checking his watch every few minutes and timed it just right. -
'classic' stingray vs stingray - are they worth it?
Ou7shined replied to zero9's topic in Bass Guitars
True. One thing that kind of nags at me is it's getting tougher for bikers out there due to the amount of genuine idiots on the road these days. I remember a time when the roads were mainly populated by enthusiast or people who needed to drive out of necesity... nowadays it's just something to throw expendable income at (and fill the parcel shelf with cuddly toys) which obviously includes those who seem completely and utterly devoid of natural ability. -
...and to this day, I still do not have a motorcycle's license....
Me neither mate. But it never prevented me riding around the country for years, joining a MCC and living the dream as a dick-wad renegade (one of the benefits of the remoteness of where I lived) These days I'm a dad with a family car and all legit - regularly cursing out the dick-wads who use their mobiles as they try and negotiate roundabouts. I keep making noises about getting a project bike to do up and ride (legit) but the Mrs won't have it. -
To use a trite and over used expression... this (really) looks like a lot of bass for the money. Good luck with the sale (although I can't see you needing it) edit : Whoever buys this beauty - I'd get that cavity deepened though (as the OP says it's easy enough to do.. piss for a luthier) as if I'm not wrong it's the actually pcb on the JE that's preventing it from closing properly. A slight bang on there could mean curtains for a nice bit of kit.

Lots of haters hating the Boss but no love for Macca. (kinda why I posted it here and not in OT) I'm personally brimming with ambivalent about both but I thought there might have been some sympathy for that '60's beat combo dude.
