1. I meant ‘fraid....Mike A is no fraud...love to have a fearful 210 but 2 dear.
2. Fraud mike arnepol stuff is out of my reach at the moment....would be my first choice
3. Yeah. I thought about that. Wondered if it would enough for biggish pubs and loud drummers...not that intend to go back to heavy rock but you never know. Have heard one of my DBs through Markbass gear and was impressed.
4. Well I fancy a 210 and don’t think that EA do that. I actually would like a 410 but way to big and heavy. EA also a bit on the expensive side and I have seen a few Markbass cabs at reasonable prices.
5. I am thinking about getting an extension for my EA doubler/EA wizzy M line for bigger venues and general head room. Was thinking along the lines of a 102 Mark bass cab but not sure if this would work. Should I stay with another EA cab. The PA my current band uses is poor quality otherwise I would go through that. Been using an old 410 rock cab (can’t remember the make). I like the extra oomph but it tends to take away from the quality sound of the EA cab and is damned heavy.
6. I really don’t know why I use German grip. I looked at YouTube stuff, tried both methods and preferred this one. Think it is cos a clumsy Neanderthal. There are two shops that I will try. The Violin Shop in Glasgow and Stringers in Edinburgh. Before I go there I wanted to do some research. Very grateful to all of you. Carbon fibre bows looking attractive at the moment. I see some pernambuco bows on eBay. I assume that just because it is pernambuco doesn’t mean it is a ‘good’ bow. I guess that you really need to try before buying...which obviously you can’t do with evilbay
7. Bowing German....is that the correct expression?
8. I just got my old bow re haired..£50...now the tension adjuster has gone. But you are right ..ha..maybe it is just gas. It is a cheap bow I think and probably needs replaced. I am enjoying learning to bow so thought about upgrading. No teachers in this area.
9. Don’t think I have the skills yet to justify a pro bow. Thinking more of a step up from beginner
10. The bows on eBay all seem to be quite low in price. Looks like carbon fibre unless I get lucky. Is there a wide range in the quality of fibre bows?
11. Hi. Started teaching myself to bow two years ago...well with the help YouTube etc. I am mature player....whatever that means. Anyway thinking of upgrading my bow and wondering how on earth I go about that. Strings were bad enough...still on that carousel. So is there a good site to visit...don’t suppose there is a ...shop!? Or a book or a human that I can communicate with?
12. Reckon I would get away with changing one string? Rest are fine....might be a tuning issue?
13. Thanks Keith....I assumed that it came with the low riders
14. Just bought very nice Ibanez short scale five string. Low B is low rider 125 but tension is far too low. Would going up to a 140 or 150 or whatever solve the problem. Never had a short scale. Maybe a different string at the same size?
15. What is the difference between long and short scale basses? Apart from the obvious. Is there are tonal sacrifice? I assume they go to a low E. I can see lots of advantages. What are the negatives? And who makes the best short scale. Really looking for a pbass tone I guess.

18. Struggling to get any volume without feedback from it. The gooseneck thing is too short. Had to fit ...glue...a specially shaped mounting bracket onto the bass...great for the sax but so far a negative feedback for the bass. Been putting it through an ART pre...maybe a better pre?
19.
Sorry for the hijack, how are you finding it? ( I'm in the market for something, and the seller doesn't seem to be that much of a regular on here)
20. Got a big blister on my plucking/slapping finger yesterday.....rockabilly...and got a practice on Wednesday and don't know whether I should burst the blister. Certainly can't play with it. It was the usual volume war as the gig heated up. I always try to relax and not join in but then you can't hear yourself. I never get blisters or even sore tips during even the longest rehearsals.
21. Apologies...I meant to mention that I want to use the mic in addition to a pick up. I already use a very nice wing pick up that goes through a headway pre. I just feel that it does not give me enough woodiness. I am trying to achieve the impossible of course. Does the fdeck have an xlr input?
22. I bought an ATM 350 clip on mic so that I could use it on both my tenor sax and double bass. It works great on the sax but virtually no volume on the bass. I have it through an ART pre amp using phantom power. The sound is ok I think but volume before feedback is very disappointing. I have worked on placement etc. I have only used back line amps EADoubler/wizzy 12 and a Roland bass cube 12. Have not tried it through the PA. should I be looking at another pre amp?
