    I definitely felt it, more so when anchoring my thumb on the E string and playing the G string. I have shortish fingers.

    Sterlings actually have a slightly narrower string spacing at the bridge (1/16” less) than Stingrays according to the EBMM specs. I found the difference a plus when I compared.

    It looks visually similar to the Memorymoog. I’ve watched all the Moog live-streams and it does sound great and the architecture is well thought-out. I like the fact that all editing is possible without recourse to a PC editor program.

    I wonder if it’ll be third time lucky for me with this one. I’ve missed it the last two times it’s come up. I’m in Sheffield and on the 18th will receive the remainder of the money from the sale of my fretless when the eBay buyer comes to collect. By the way, if you’re after a nice Sterling then Wunjo has my old one (the one I sold to @Gardenerben earlier in the year) and it’s wonderful, though they are charging £500 more than I sold it (and £600 more than what Ben offered it for here when unfortunately had to admit it was a bit heavy for him).

    Is the sound with the glitching the Valeton? If so, and the non-glitching sound is the Boss, then I prefer the latter as it has more bottom. The Octabvre is more like the Boss in that (in Tim mode) it has a lot of bottom end.

    It was difficult to hear anything useful from that comparison. I’m happy that the envelope rippling has been ameliorated somewhat as that was always a pain on the Wonderlove.

    Maybe that’s a different one. I saw one for £1350. Your price is as high as I’d be willing to pay for one of these.

    I didn’t go as far as putting it in my basket so your figure is likely way more accurate. I think it’s probably best to wait and try one from bassdirect with the option of a cheap return.

    I don’t quite understand what you mean about the subs being passive. It doesn’t glitch. Many fuzz pedals are lacking in dynamics and oompf. The Mastotron is not one of those.

    Nice one, with the subs on full it is fantastic at driving envelope followers.

    I’ve tended to find that radii have quite an influence in combination with other factors. Wider nuts and wider string spacing are more manageable to me when the neck has a smaller radius (more curved fretboard). Flatter fingerboards are ok if the nut and string spacing are narrower. (Anything above an 11” radius I just find uncomfortable.) These combinations allow my fingers to keep their natural curve when playing at the low end.

    I second the Fat Fuzz Factory. I had one and sold it here (maybe I should’ve kept it) it can do super tight gate or wild self-oscillation. There a plenty of sounds to be had from it. Getting a stable sound is easy as long as you have the “stab” control up past about 1 o’clock.

    I did briefly own one of these and it compares very favourably with the octave fuzz on the Octo Nøjs. In fact it was much fatter sounding though isn’t gated. It can be very high gain at some settings too. At this price, and given I’ve sold my ON and Doom, I’m quite tempted.

    Sadly I’ve not had them side by side so can only judge from memory. The ON is probably buzzier. In terms of bottom end, I think the Valeton has a bit more (but not as much as the Octabvre). For under £40 the Valeton is a nice pedal. If using with a filter I’d open the tone right up and use the separate filter to cut the highs. The ON isn’t as flexible as the Cog T-70 as that particular pedal can switch between three different user-defined settings at the press of a footswitch.
