My Aguilar looked a lot like a home made. Specifically the BFM cab I have, same sort of handles, rat fur, grill.

[/quote] Doesn't sound very realistic. Can put different value pot in or anything to sort that sort of thing. Only the power stage is limiting on upper volume. You can tell when the power stage is maxing because your ears get a boner.

[/quote] I've just shipped an amp to France, bar the optimistic delivery time quote it arrived OK, trick is to whip out the valves and wrap them, tuck them back in the chassis. Alternatively, buy without valves and have it teched on delivery (which everyone should do really).

These are pretty rare, so rare I only have two. This is the in better condition of the two, was merely neglected rather than beat, so it cleaned up well. I've loaded it with 6550 taken out of my Matamp (as put in by Matamp, which I guess is a recommendation), seems happy on these, although should have KT88, I assume it runs them pretty easy due to the 150w part. anyway, passive preamp, not the MKIV one with the undeserved bad rep, the other one is my favourite amp at current, which is a position with a lot of competition (Matamp doesn't have it due to being a slave). I've also replaced the electrolytic filter caps, and uprated them, for a bit more headroom in the lows. Figured a plan for hardening up the back part, been sanding around it. I have some Wilko own brand ‘danish oil’ but it is actually a wipe on varnish, leaving a satin plasticy coating. I used it for a door then got some proper stuff. Anyway, the sticky plasticyness seemed idea for purpose if I can get it to penetrate, mixed it 50/50 with white spirit an brushed it on, leaving it to pool in the crevices, and soak in. Will top up in a bit.

There might be more to these strings than gauge, you can do stuff with the core to change the tension and tuning without altering gauge, so probably aren't comparable with other brands of same thicknesses. I use .055 to.115 in standard on one of my basses, is doable, but they are daddario steels.

Don't want to stick with all valve? I'm using a Sound City 150 with a Barefaced Super 15, that probably enough volume for pretty much anyone.

Grover. Musicman pickup by default, again, will fit others if you sen to him. I went with P pickup cause can freely swap amoog my basses that way.

I asked about black hardware but it was extra, so be on the lookout for new stuff. Alternative is ordering it sent to him. I put up a wanted ad for the pickups for mine on an American bass site.

The hole in the head is about the roughest bit on mine, aside from the roughness I ordered. I suspect the routing depends on how recently he bought a new bit.

Both of mine were fine. And the person I sold the first one to was fine. And when you actually have done things like order and own a Wishbass, you'd be aware they don't come with a bridge, or a finish unless requested, which renders those claims a bit silly, like the one on a harmony central review claiming the intonation was way off on a fretless.

I can get basses sold. But given that pile, I'd have them all apart and end up with a monster the likes of which you've never seen.

Finish will be danish oil. I'll have a lot of sawdust so superglue/epoxy and that is probably the way to go.

I didn't bring the neck woods into it, but it is purpleheart center, then maple then mahogany. If I'd thought to ask I'd have gone maple an purpleheart laminates. You can ask for whatever, just bear in mind what you are getting isn't a top boutique thing.
