  1. Well I messed around with everything yesterday, I still think its something to do with the bridge, it's not massively noticeable coming through the amp. The neck adjusts fine and the nut on the truss rod seems fine so unless it's rattling around in the cavity I doubt that it's that. Bit of amystery, I'll just have to get over it!
  2. Well I've been sodding around for about an hour or so and I just think its something about the bridge, everything else seems secure. It's just hard to pinpoint. Unless the truss rod is just rattling about in the neck cavity. It's not as bad amplified as I thought which is good. I'll probably just have to get over it!
  3. That's something I will look into tonight, there doesnt seem to be anything rattling around in the cavities, but its just the same noise slightly amplified. I was assuming that if it was the springs they were hitting the string and that was getting amplified by the pickups.
  4. THanks for the advice, but the truss rod has been tightened, the truss rod honestly seems fine in terms of tweakability, its not tight but its definitely not loose either. I've tried holding the string behind the nut to see if the noise was coming from the nut. I know for a fact the truss rod isnt broken because it wouldn't be responding to tweaks, everything else has been taken apart systematically. The tuners also are nice and tight. The only things that seem loose are the springs on the bridge. I really hope it isnt a truss rod issue, the noise isn't horrendous but I notice it.
  5. I have also tried that, it seems to make a difference, I think my best bet maybe just to put the old bridge back on and see what happens.
  6. I have a gotoh 201 installed on a jazz bass and I think the strings are making the springs on the intonations screws rattle. Though I am also not sure if it is the truss rod in the neck. The neck adjusts fine, nothing feels loose to me at all when I make an adjustment, I've literally checked the control plate the pickups, the tuning head and the nut seems cut fine. When I hit an open E its pretty audible same on the A, also when I fret I can also hear it, it's not completely obvious but I can definitely hear it, it also seems to be coming through my practice amp, I wouldnt have thought anywhere near enough to effect a band situation but it is annoying because I know it is there. I've tried hitting the back of the neck to see if anything rattles and I couldn't hear anything obvious. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone give me an insight as to what to do next
  7. It could be anything. Mine seems to do it. But I pulled it apart earlier, it's either the truss rod but it still adjusts so I kinda doubt it, but I think it's the springs on the bridge intonation screws. I think they are rattling when the strings are played.
  8. I never had a problem with axes r us and ebay stores, maybe have a look around those?
  9. Check out the 1 spot adaptor for your cabling needs, that would just go straight in your gig bag because it's just a plug with a cable, no brick or anything.
  10. Just bought a scratchplate, turned up quickly, great guy to deal with!
  11. Bought a squier jazz deluxe. Delivered quickly and gained a bargain.
  12. [quote name='willyf87' timestamp='1342552555' post='1737047'] This bridge has come off a bass I've just received, the finish is pretty tarnished and would suit something a bit vintage, it's not a total mess by any means. There is however, one saddle screw missing from the E saddle, this is obviously a bit of a problem, someone with a bit of savvy should be able to replace this. Looking for £30 including postage ONO Will get pics up soon or can send to email you choose, just heading out the door!! 13. I got this in a trade off of here. The bass was about two weeks old when I got it! So it is as new!! It's now only 6 weeks old. No marks and sounds superb but it surplus to my requirements due to new purchases. I'm yet to take my own pictures but here is the original thread.... 14. Yeah, the blue one is more like a tubey drive, i set that low for a bit of grind, the next odb3 is set fairly low but with a punch then the next is set higher gain for a more full on overdrive.
