1. Still available, need to get rid so give me your offers!
  2. Hi folks, Its time to get rid of my Ashdown Perfect Ten 30w Bass Combo. I bought it approximately 7 years ago and it has spent most of its time in a cupboard or being moved into/out of one, playing Bass is sadly no longer my thing so it needs to go to someone who will actually use it! On that note I will also give whomever buys the combo my first bass I ever bought as I feel it would make a great project Jazz bass for who wants to spend the time and money on it. It is a Chord CJB62 as far as I can remember (I removed the decal on the head stock a long time ago), which is just a generic Jazz copy with age related scuffs. The amp has a few age related scuffs but as far as I can tell it is working perfectly (I did plug in my bass and test it however the bass is suffering from a crackle, so I also tested my guitar in it too and no crackles were heard then). I am based in the West Midlands (DY5) and this sale will be collection only, all tests welcome. £80. Don't hesitate if you have any further questions regarding the item/s.

    SOLD

ON HOLD For sale is this gorgeous OLP MM3, it's in great condition and there are now scuffs on it whatsoever, it is in Silver with white pick guard and rosewood fretboard. I bought it about 4 weeks ago brand new and it plays great, the action feels good to me and it comes with a set of Ernie Ball slinkys. The only reason for the sale is that its a 5 string and i can't get on with it! Price is 180 if you pick it up, or 200 delivered (by myself, i will not deliver by courier, sorry) in the west midlands area, it will be packed in the original box with as much packaging as i can get my hands on, there is no case for this bass, sorry. Sorry about the poor quality photos, but i guarantee there are no marks on this bass whatsoever, it's basically brand new. If you have any questions PM me or post here
  8. Took delivery of a new OLP (mm3?) Stingray 5 copy, first ever 5 so was skeptical but i have always wanted a 5 string so just went for it link below is to some stock photos (same colour as mine), will try and get my own up, but, lost the cable from my phone to pc, so may take a little while! i may have to borrow the missus' camera http://www.knightonmusiccentre.com/bass-gu...ss/prod_86.html Tell me if the link does not work Took it out of the box, tuned it up, and it plays great! neck is alot bigger than my previous 4 strings obviously, but its a comfortable fatness if you know what i mean sounds great too! I am thinking about doing the pickup and circuit mods, but when im more confident and better off with money plus i want a black pickguard to stick on it! sorry about any spelling errors, im eager to get back to playing! - Simmo

  12. Thanks to unforseen hefty bill i can not afford this anymore, but someone should really snap this up! great bargain
  13. Really great amp for the price and a nice guy to deal with! someone should snap this up soon
  14. Yup i vote for the Ibanez too, good pickup configuration, and looks comfortable, and SHOULD be comfortable to play which is very important for a begginner
  15.
Eh? You can't be serious? This is from Germany in the EU. Which bank is it? How did you pay?
I used my Santander account through paypal, needless to say, after all the hassle i got thats the last time i used my santander account to buy anything! i bought my first bass from ebay, and it came on a realllly long journey overseas...from Ireland -.- and they charged me a overseas shipping fee! that lead me to going overdrawn, and then i was charged unnaranged overdraft fees! Anyway i used my far more reliable bank for the purchase i have just made! I have just bought a new bass after looking for a few weeks, it is Solid Alder body with natural finish and a Maple neck with 20 rosewood frets, the link below is for some more on Ebay which range from about £125 to £140ish, and i got mine brand new for £89.99 with free shipping! now comes the wait and to see if it is any good I will post pictures and a short review (mainly because i'm lazy) after i have recieved and tested the beast out , thanks for everbodies input into this thread! Edit - The Make/Model of the bass is a Chord CJB62, never heard of them but for 90 quid it has to be utterly crap to be a waste of money http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trk...nkw=chord+cjb62 - Simmo
  16.
if its a cheap jazz your after you could try one of these(i'll prob get band for suggesting this ): http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbb1975_bk.htm i had one (first jazz bass i had infact) and it was quite nice. i changed the pickups to duncan designed ones like the squiers have (because they were £30) needed a set up though but sure the majority of cheap basses do. still for £110 including delivery you cant go wrong. i regret selling mine now and have been thinking about buying another one. they also do a maple one like the vintage modified squier but that seems to be out of stock atm. Michael
ah well last time i ordered a bass, it came from overseas, and my bank had a hidden charge for buying an item which is overseas, this caused me to go overdrawn, then i ended up paying more than what the bass cost in bank charges alone! so I am wary of importing basses, which is a shame because it looks really good for the money
  17.
You can detune strings other than the bottom one, and on 2 a side headstocks.
ah i get it now me thinks, so if i wanted to downtune the E string i would choose Bass side? I knew it would be a stupid question
  18.
Thanks for clarifying that for me. So the gear works the oposite way on the BT3. Interesting! I had no idea. Hipshot Bass X-tender model BT7 just ordered!
I know i may sound stupid, but i was looking at the order form for the BT7, and there was an option for Bass side or Treble side, what does this mean?
  19.
I owned one of the Vintage ones. Finish wasn't great, but it was a nice bass. The pickups were a bit disappointing, and in mine, a bit microphonic. But for teh price it wasn't bad at all, and one day you put a pair of good pickups there and you ahve a great bass. However, I got a Westfield B4000 (Jazz clone) earlier this year for £40 plus delivery on eBay. It was so cheap, and I had tried a nice Westfield before, that I had to go for it. And it's a much better bass. The pickups, surprisingly, are quite nice. I didn't need to change anything on it, stock it was nice. Just set it up, mine had a couple of slightly tall frets that needed levelling, but that's about it. Last week I installed a J-retro01 preamp in it... and it turned it into a bass that sounds and feels like it's worth a lot more. It's still ugly (translucent green, and the grain isn't pretty), but it's a great bass that I can play proudly next to my Warwick Corvette $$ and my MM Stingray. I spent about £180 in total, and I have a beast of a bass. I noticed they stopped doing the green one early on. I'm not sure if all B4000 were built similarly, but it's worth a try...and if it's a green one you know it's from the same time of mine, so maybe you get lucky too. I suspect there'll be variation between basses, much more than among more expensive instruments, but from my experience in general with Westfield, you get pretty decent instruments that turn into nice ones with just a basic setup.
Ah I have been waiting for your input yeah i have seen your thread on the westfield (which looks great , but green is my favourite colour ) and i have had a look and it seems they have become extinct ha, but i will keep looking because if i could get a bargain on one like you did, i would probably go for it
  20.
as a wee question.. what are you playing it through? i would have thought it's more likely to be the electronics playing up than the pup- may be wrong....
Just my little fender rumble practise amp, i'm not sure if it is the electronics, but it's not just the low output i don't like, i prefer the jazz sound
  21.
What is the difference between the fleabass (model 32) and the fleabass street bass? Also hello
I think its just that the street bass is made of Basswood but i haven't played either! so there could be other differences
