I'd recommend this, did it a few years ago with an Aguilar obp3. You can very cheaply buy an enclosure to attach the pots and sockets. Very little soldering required and you then have a pre which you can use with any bass.
To be far my version is not a 'pedal' in the sense there is no on/off switch, it's always on, but still....

Another device tried and now consigned to the man cave. Will post some pics asap but it is a mint condition Ebow in original box, not much more to say.

Are you sure about this? Whilst I've yet to play one I suspect this is a serious serious bass. I mean, it's not like you have to play the 6th string all the time....

It's about 4.5 kg. Comfy with a good strap. I wear it medium height an no issues with balance.

A bit of a speculative post I'm afraid, this has been my go to jazz for about 3 and half years but something else has come up. If that something disappears then this will quickly be fettled back into the stable.

I've borrowed most of the spec from kdubb24s original post for this bass (hope you don't mind kdubb24). Currently I use a tecamp head which sounds great but in certain circumstances I would like to hear a bit more warmth like I used to get with my old ampeg svt 5.
I don't want to switch amps, I'd really like some kind of pedal or di that I can insert before the amp to warm up a bit. I don't want loads of controls or presets, just something simply that sounds good on bg or double bass. I have been known to use "some" effects in my signal chain so these needs to factor in too. I like the idea of it doubling as a di for use with the PA or in those rarer occasions where I'm recording.
The ampeg svt di looks great but sadly it seems more chance of finding unicorn tears in the desert.
What do y'all think?
