1. Ah, that one was mine! And tnose pickups. I installed them and removed them - didn't make any difference to my ears. A cracking, easy to play bass which should still havr a set of Chromes on it, no?
2. Gas...lots. Cash...zero.
3. ...for your equally fully loaded Precision body, ideally a Squier VM Fretless Precision body, but W.H.Y.? Pics to follow - it's the natural finish with black guard model. It's unlikely I will sell this if a trade doesn't come up... Apologies for link - don't know how to properly display a pic that's s already in my attachments list! 4. A Fender Mustang bass. White. Tort.
5.
I'm very jealous of people who can pick up any bass and play it all night. I remember when I could do that. To the people who don't understand. . . . you will one day.
This.
6. Great news!
7. Nearly flat neck, TI Jazz Flats, improbably low action, little fret buzz (luckily), quite often with the tone rolled right off. New Squier Jazz has similar setup but stil has rounds on. Seems to work OK, but needs flats...
8.
That was another early contender, making sure the string comes off the tuner as low as possible. A good reason for not trimming too much off the E and A strings before fitting them. Also why I don't like those modern tuner pegs that are concave in the middle, so you can't wind the string down to the bottom of the tuner. Lame!
Hipshot HB7s actually have a down taper to force the issue. Really pleased with them.
9.
Eureka!! Here's the answer; swap the necks over and play your P with a jazz neck. Then ditch the jazz. Easy"
Yes! This!
10. Yup, we need a 'Ps with J necks' thread - count me in!
11. It's certainly red rather than brown, but not startlingly so. Unmarked for brand, came as part of a trade deal. Large pot apertures as per CTS pots. Cyberbass, pm incoming.
12. Yup, certainly a hot winding!

14. I've put a set of lockable wheels on my Markbass Traveler 151P, courtesy of the bargain bin at Ikea. Job done!
15. As I'm using a Little Mark 2, I'm using analogue solid state, so middle ground. Entirely happy with it.
16. Just need to dave up the pennies for a couple of sets of Chromes (can't afford Jazz Flats at the moment), then I can really get to work on this bass. It pkays well and sounds good, but flats are where it's at for me. Only Jazz I've used flats on so far was an American Special with the Greade Bucket circuit, so a Jazz with flats and a standard circuit will be a new thing for me. However, I don't expect it to be vastly different.
