  1. Of course, as time goes by, I'll have to get someone to donate a grey ponytail to sew into my baseball cap...
  2. Fortunately for them, no!
  3. Many years using Rotbass 40s (nickel Swing Bass with no silk) and I've never had a bad set. As all my basses were strung with them, and all in use, I got through quite a lot of 'em! All good. The only thing I did not like about Rotosound was when they stopped making Superwound 505s. Best bass string ever. Contact core pressurewounds. Great on any type of bass, fretted or fretless, easy on fingers and frets. If they re-introduced them, I'd even dump my TI Jazz flats to change back. Their local rep, Roger Channing, is always good and knowledgeable. Also a fount of knowledge and experience of playing in tribute bands (Upbeat Beatles, and damned good they are too). And when he was on leave once, Jason visited instead! Great team of people.
  4. Good point - song list up! That's the set list we used. Of course, after 'Songbird', they would not let us go off without doing 'The Chain' again!
  5. Last night (Sunday 20th March) was the first outing for The Fleetwood Mac Experience. We crammed this 6-piece into a small pub in Plympton, Plymouth, and hoped people would respond to the promotion and come an dhave a look. It was essentially done as a self-promotional freebie, no fee from the pub. Well, we must have done something right! Place was rammed, we pulled it off well, and so much went over the bar that we got £250 for our trouble! A good start, or what? Mucho pleased! PS: Anyone on here with a very long memory might recall that I started on this road nearly 5 years ago - some bands just take longer to put together!

    New Here

    Howdy!
  11. Howdy! My break was 17 years...and I was better at playing when I restarted, after the initial rusty period!
  12. Ouch! Only ever use Hercules stands myself. Bombproof, don't fall over, and if they do have problems and are under 5 years old, the distributors will do their level best to sort it out. Three cheers for Strings and Things!
  13. Howdy!
  14. Hi Liam, and welcome! Playing in Exeter tonight - Whipton & Pinhoe Labour Club. New venue for us.
  15. Ah, the toll bridge at Eynsham! Many trips 'twixt Oxford and Cheltenham have taken me over it.
  16. Howdy from a former Essex lad. I say that, because I was born in Ilford, Essex, but Ilford is so totally London these days!
  17. Howdy! Good starter kit!
  18. I'm a recent convert to TI Jazz Flats. Theyre on both my main basses, and I don't see them being changed out anytime soon!
  19. I don't need it, but it's certainly a valid thing, not a gimmick. I'll add one to the arsenal at some point, for sure. A Fender American Standard P5, probably!
  20. It will arrive eventually! Welcome from an even more south-westerly direction!
