Lights are a must but don't go overboard with your expense unless you're planning on doing more function gigs. Make sure you do run all lights with a simple trip RCD extension for safety reasons & ensure no young curious fingers can touch the lights near the dance floor - or you'll end up in court!!!! On a less (or more) serious note - don't do this: At a friend of our singers wedding we played. The bride & grooms introduction to the dance floor was announced by our singer - all was ok until he introduced the groom as the brides EX-HUSBAND - NOT THE CURRENT ONE!!!!! - Oh, he could have died that night - so so so not the thing to do!!!!!

Welcome on board!!!!

Here's my list of the worst "sorry we don't know that one " requests.... Rockin' all over the world (requested by a group of Aussies I seem to recall - a gig somewhere in Bournemouth!) American Pie Almost EVERY wedding gig this one is called for - usually gets sung to us anyway by about 4 or 5 drunk men and usually one half asleep fat lady who are watching us pack up after a long night! Does ya know anyz Oasis mate! Usually we greet this one with a sharp, but firm, DUCK OFF Also, another request - not for a particular song, but a reqest none the less - "Give us a go on dem drums mate" - Gets right up our drummers nose!!!

Just interested to see whether people use music stands at gigs? I don't, but sometimes need to during a dep gig. When you watch a band live, do you think less of the musicians if they are reading from sheet?

Sorry, but this is simply horrible..... No 'musician' who could do a 13 string bass justice, would be seen playing this 'Argos reject' drift wood. Just my opinion... GREG
Agreed this is superb and lovely without reproach, but as to a value should the owner want to move it on, its subjective at best. unlike a standard PB or jazz which has a value, and can be sold easily, these personal basses are a bit vague in value
Thank you for all you're nice comments. With reference so the selling-on of a custom made bass, I would agree with you that it is harder to find a player who has the same tastes etc. However, I (and I guess most other players) would probably not sell on a 'custom built for them' bass unless they were insane (or needed the cash) !!!! Factory or bulk-built basses are generally built to attract the most punters - in terms of popular finishes, neck width, string spacing, balance etc etc - this is why they will always have a wider audience when time comes to sell-on. However, this is usually why they are cheaper in the first place I would guess - as they are easier to mass produce. For now, im content that I have my monies worth - and the Sei will continue to be one of my main basses for years to come. Keep it low Greg
