After checking out this forum for a while, I recently decided to join in ...
I know there are dangers for sudden GAS-attacks (I have been a member for some time on Talkbass) but hey, I am grown up and have already spent quite some money on bass gear.

I play bass for about 15 years, starting out with a small yamaha amp and a hondo precision. I upgraded to an Aria Pro II SJP and an Ampeg combo (SVT-15T) when I joined a metal band. My gear stayed that way for several years, just an added Boss OD-3.

And then the madness started :s
I joined another band (hardcore/punk) so I needed some new gear

So the new bass was a Cort Artisan A4, the amp was a Hartke combo VX3500. But this setup didn't really cut it for me, although it felt like a decent allrounder, but I wanted MORE!

Soon the EBMM Sub4 (Teal) followed, and the Warwick Quad IV together with the Hartke XL 410's.
The Italia Mondial( cream white) joined the family, just as a Peavey T-40(natural wood) , a lawsuit Rickenbacker copy (black) from the 70's, a Hohner B2A, a Gretsch Baritone guitar and a nicely priced Fender Bassman Export.

But my 2 main basses I bought last: a Musicman Stingray (black with maple fretboard) and a Sandberg California JM4 (cream slightly aged) with rosewood fretboard. After those my GAS for basses was over.

Ampwise I was happy with the Warwick Quad IV, but there was this craving for some serious tube power. So after seeing a few shows where the bass pounding came from a big orange box with a lot of style, I knew where to look ... Orange AD200b.

I have tried a few effects: Boss ODB-3 (hey, who hasn't tried that one?), Boss CEB-3 (Chorus), Big John Granny Puker, EBS Octabass but they never made it to the band setting.
Two although did: DHA VT1 (it was great untill it started to cut out and it went in for repairs and I was stupid enough to swap the tube ... after that it wasn't the same anymore :) ) and the Aguilar Agro preamp (rack) which stays with the Warwick in the case as my solidstate backup.

A bit long for just saying hello ;-)

Still got the T-40?

If you have, stick a pic in Gear Porn - T-40 Section.

Cheers.[/quote]
