If the body is nice and light, it might be worth keeping the body. Cant help but feel it's a bit of a shame to refinish the body. Id say it will effect the value in a downwards fashion....
So you cant sell it, but you don't want to play it as it is..... Can you get the neck re-fretted?

....but then I have another bass. And I don't want another bass.... see the problem? The neck is the only *real* issue, the "can't/won't play fretless" problemo :)
