hey all!
i was wondering if the forumites, could help me out.
i've asked this question on other forums but its not really helped, so i thought i would ask here!
is there a similarity in build quality from the (MIJ) 60s reissue jazz bass, the geddy lee jazz and the jaguar?
one of my students has a jaguar and its super dense feeling compared to my japan jazz bass. i want to buy another jazz, but would like it if the feel, weight, and quality were like the jag, and thats the only one ive tried.
any thoughts?
cheers

Wasnt the Jag s'posed to be the 'ultimate' bass at the time, a higher quality bass? I would guess then that the wood would be better selected.....

As to Jap re-issues, you are caught in the trap of 'best available at the time'.....

All MIJs are very nicley made, however a good J re-issue could well be, nicer than a Jag re-issue.....

Not much help, I'm afriad.....

^^^ Sudden rush of 5hit to the brain! ----------My apologies---- and indeed it was the guitar that was the 'ulitmate Fender" back in the 60's

Just goes to show why I'm not a dyed in the wool Fender head!!!

The Jag bass is a 2006 design (although there was a Jag Baritone way back when!) Thankfully the rest of that above post wasnt cr4p and still stands....!

Thank you JLP form making me look it up..... (Blue book bashing time again) Bl88dy Fender, why cant they make a couple of models and be done with it.....

I really really like the Jag too. Great range of sounds and nicely playable.

i just couldn't live with one because of the positioning of the switces, every time I slapped or strumed i flicked a switch and changed the sound totally, really annoying otherwise I'd have one.
