Um, this is wicked... and will get this rainy, crappy Monday off to a much better start!

You have to click on the 'Planet Gear' link on the right of the video box - I tried finding a separate link but there's ain't one!
I saw him at Bestival, and whilst his bass playing was on a par with no one, the music just too much! We left after 10 minutes because the treble and distortion was physically hurting our ears
niiiiicccceee! :)
I like to do a lot of laptop rooted experimenting and i couldn't make sounds half as weird as his. He has a creative mind many would envy, but the product - that is his music - is what many would call.. well, rubbish.
Yep, each to his own, that's for sure. I'm definitely a fan though, I love it.

After years of the live band treadmill, My brother and myself are about to start some home demo stuff, hopefully in a similar style to Squarepusher, but of course nowhere near as good!! I'm not up to that kind of standard, not by a country mile and then some, but certainly for our own fun, and it beats band politics any day, I mean, drum machines don't answer back :) .

I think it's a shame that some bassists won't give Squarepusher a go, I think there's room for everything from James Jamerson to Squarepusher and everything inbetween.

I do indeed love mr pusher but i'd like to point out that the album that that video's taken off is a weird one in both concept, playing and sound.

Some other videos with his more electronic side showing and less "out there" kind of playing....

His solo's in some of his IDM songs really show his breakbeat influence i think as he has a quite percussive, punchy sound and he uses a lot of fast 16th note rhythms that kind of bubble away like breakbeat drums usually do.

I'm sure he picks with his pinky and his thumb or something weird like that, any ideas?

I love his work but i've never dug out any articles of his to really find out what he plays n stuff.
