Nothing I can see here.. although hitting a surface that is designed for tensioned steel strings to be heavily pressed, slapped and vibrated on it with a small piece of soft silver or gold doesn't seem like it would be devastating for it - I would assume there would be more damage to the rings and I see none!

i had a epi thunderbird with a moody fret job (from factory) and played a gig with my weeding ring on. i could feel it catching a few times and didnt realise until the set was over that the pinching had cut my finger open
