dave_bass5 Posted Saturday at 12:18 Posted Saturday at 12:18 just a heads up for Beyerdynamic users. Been testing this out for a couple of days. It seems to do what it says and is free. It makes quite a difference with my 700 pro X. It smooths the high end quite a bit. I didnt realsie how harsh they are until i tried this. Great for general listening but not as flat as i had hoped. 1 Quote
paul_5 Posted Saturday at 12:45 Posted Saturday at 12:45 The Hornet VHS has been doing this for a couple of years. Granted it's not free, but will do most of the more popular headphone types for €11, including the ubiquitous KZ ZS10s 1 Quote
MartinB Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Agreed - VHS is a great option for non-Beyerdynamic owners. Currently available for €2.50 with code WINSAL80: https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-vhs/ 1 Quote

Great for general listening but not as flat as i had hoped. I'll download it today, but as it doesn't seem to work as a standalone, I guess it's quite useless, for me, at least. I like the feature that recalibrates your headphones according to their serial number. That said, I'm using IK Multimedia Arc On-Ear since day one, it's not free, but it turns (or not) a lot of headphones into a flat response, without loosing their inherent character and matching their impedance (which is the biggest issue with headphones), and it also simulates (or not) the sound of a perfect studio with (or not) legendary speakers. You can also store your headphones in the unit and once it's done, it works as an excellent audio soundcard as well as an excellent DAC and excellent headphones preamp ... totally standalone. I think the overall Arc system is the best around for home studio of high quality. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/arconear/ Quote
