Gizmo Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago So i've been out of the BASS/Bassist loop for a little while & after feeling the pull of the low end once again i thought i drop a post to ask about catching up on Who/What i've been missing out on for the past 15 years or so? My fav's of yesteryear player were/are guys like Bromberg/Manring/Hamm/Caron/Wooten/Malone/Miller/Larue/Campagnani/Nitti...etc, so all the slapper/taper/soloist kind of bassist that do the fusion/prog type stuff id guess, I've been catching up on these guys & sofar some good & some WTF is this mess moments Now i did drop by Youtube first to see what was up/down....BIG MISTAKE, WTF is with all this BASS BATTLE/Bass influencer stuff ? (no doubt at 52 im guessing its that i just "don't get it") 2 Guys that have popped up on the radar that i have on playback loop atm are Alex Lofoco & Fernando Molinari, both monster players that also have great tunes/groove...Id say that Alex is like all my fav player fussed into one with a health amount of himself, shame he only seems to have released one album in like 8 years? So any recommendations for me ? Cheers Quote

itu Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Women: kingaglyk.com Alissia Benveniste Mohini Dei Men: Tom Kennedy Richard Bona charlesberthoud.com I don't think you lost a thing. These are flashy players but I still think most of the bass work is done in half or first position and with roots and fifths. Good timing is still the key. Quote
Count Bassy Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago (edited) The ubiquitous use of Class D amplifiers and Neodymium magnet speakers. ie speakers and cabs are smaller and/or lighter. Playing with a pick and playing slap bass, and flatwound strings are now illegal, so don't be tempted. Edited just now by Count Bassy Quote
