Paddy777 Posted yesterday at 07:47 Posted yesterday at 07:47 Form factor Is going to be off putting for some I think, I love the current Octamizer and the new sounds on the down filter sound excellent, never use an octave up tho. Compressor looks good - the metering looks a really great addition, I’m not quite sure what to make of the EQ, I think with a passive bass it’d probably work really well Quote
markorbit Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Regarding the Compressor the website states "Advanced DSP platform, in-house algorithms". I'm gonna guess that is a copy and paste error. Surely this pedal is analog? Quote
Ben Jamin Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago That's a nifty comp. I guess a few compressors have a tone control for bringing some top-end back in, but having bass and treble boosts is a bit more flexible, along with the blend for parallel compression. Neat! Also always good to see metering! I wonder if they thought folk might place them on the shelf on that new combo? They kind of fit. I guess if you're stuck for space... Quote

Well I wondered this, but then on the Octamizer youtube video I saw a comment saying “why would you make this a digital pedal?” Or something along those lines? So no I think it correct - looks like they might be digital. I’m honestly not too bothered as long as it sounds good, however I know it’ll definitely be a dealbreaker for a lot of people 1 Quote
soulstar89 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I really like the sound of the new octave pedal. The octave up sounds much less quacky compared to the Ehx micro pog. I like how both can be mixed with sub low and dry. I just prefer the sound of the Aguilar. Grape phaser compared to mxr phase 90 sounds more silky smooth Quote

The comp is based on the original smaller one isn't it... which I thought was analog. Maybe it is correct as you say. Quote
Quatschmacher Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Octamizer deluxe is digital; the ad copy says “powered by Aguilar’s new DSP engine”. Quote
SumOne Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think it's a bit of a shame that the Octamizer has gone digital. You can get decent digital octave up/down (and other features like semitones) in most multi-fx, but the analogue Octamizer with the tilt EQ on the clean is I think unique. Octavers are one of the only effects that there really does seem to be a noticeable difference in tone between analogue and digital. Quote
