Rush - Blu Ray disc rot.

Anyone got a copy of this on Blu-ray?  Does it still work?

 

Recent thread on a Rush related Facebook page about how this disc has just stopped working for many owners.

Mine stopped working years ago...unrecognised by two Sony Blu-ray players and a couple external BD drives.  I was royally pissed; the only BR or DVD that just stopped working.

I have it somewhere. Can’t remember if it’s blu ray or not . Could it be a regional issue ??

Yeah, mine's a feckin' coaster as well.

When I loaded it first time, the player (OPPO 4K) just thought about it and then said 'no disc'.

I loaded another blu-ray which I know to be fine and it played fine.

I then reloaded BTLS and it did boot the disc, but was stuck in a one minute clip of Limelight/photo/video montage which recycled endlessly.

What FB page is the thread on and is anyone doing anything about it?

I know someone in the industry who has a bit of leverage with these things, but it's an old title.

Not sure whether that makes any difference. I'll message him.

Ironically, I've just received the mailer from Rush Backstage for the Grace Under Pressure Super Deluxe set coming out in March.

When something similar happened to one of the big CD manufacturers (PDO - Phillips Dupont Optical) they honoured every one that got sent back for many years. If this is a known problem perhaps the Blu-ray manufacturer will do the same.

The disc is years old and out of print, so I doubt the maker will honour anything.

Seriously, so were some of the CDs, including some fairly niche compilations that were out of licence.
