Luthier to do a decent defret Northamptonshire

Hi,

 

Following on from my recent post in search of a USA Musicman Sub as a fretless, I have purchased a very suitable bass to have converted to a fretless, the neck has already been crudely stripped of its finish so I am not going to devalue it further by defretting it, does anyone know of a decent luthier in the Northants area (or within reasonable travelling distance) who could do the job? Sadly all the contacts I had for doing such work have long since retired!

If you can stretch to Leicester, I can very much recommend Howard Smith for guitar work. He’s done all

manner of work on my kit and that of many of Leicester’s gigging musos for years. He’s a top man.

Yes, but it means going to Leicester.

I think Leicester miles are different from other miles too.
 

Satnavs do silly things like calculate distance / speed to give you ETA on routes.

 

But those rules don’t apply in Leicester. Five miles could take you 10 mins or two hours.
