Lozz196 Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 Just a quick shoutout re the above. Many shops/chains have gone recently, and many of those left have a few token basses at best, not these guys though, a great selection and very good customer service. 2 Quote
Misdee Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 I remember going in there back in must be the early 1990's and they had some lovely stuff in stock back then, Wal basses ect. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a very upmarket home counties vibe. I expect it's still pretty much the same. Long may they prosper. Quote
Steve Browning Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 Went in there many moons ago, and went to go upstairs - where they kept the 'nice' stuff. They weren't keen on me doing so. At the time I had Precision number 0189 and a 66 slab at home. Haven't bothered with them since, stuck up bell3nds. 2 Quote
Lozz196 Posted November 24, 2025 Author Posted November 24, 2025 Def different now, whilst they were sorting my new bass out they just said go & have a wander, so I did, unaccompanied, all over the shop. They’ve some great stuff there. 1 Quote

You should have gone the whole hog and faked a Scouse accent. 3 Quote

Misdee Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 (edited) I seem to remember the late, great John Wetton (King Crimson, Asia, Roxy Music, Uriah Heep, U.K ect) used to live in Farnham back in the late '80's/ early '90's. There's always been loads of musos in that neck of the woods. I expect a lot of Guitar Village's customers are more likely to be investment bankers, though, also in abundance in that part of Surrey. stu_g Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 i used to visit them in the 90s they fixed my session bass amp by soldering the fuse in ,didnt work not for me Quote
Steve Browning Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 You're not far from Session themselves at Farnham. Quote
