Having been a user of the Cali76 compact bass pedal i always fancied a try of the bigger TX version but prices are astronomical!  This popped up on Richtones secondhand section the other day and a bit of research suggests it may be in the same ballpark. Look forward to giving it a blast, particularly with the Drive setting!

Is it your old pedal or one you were watching? So far with the ric at house volume it does definitely fatten up the sound and the Drive option does a bit of breakup when digging it. Look forward to trying it at rehearsal volume with both the P and the Ric

I did my daily trawl of Richtone only to find it had already sold before I had chance to go and try it. It’s been on my list of stuff to try for a while.

Thanks. I can’t really buy any more pedals until I’ve shifted some.

So in conclusion - it sounds great with the Rickenbacker, really fattens it up and helps with the whole ric hollow E string thing.  With the precision its very subtle and not very noticeable.  I'm probably going to move it on as my current main need is one of those three channel programmable sansamp thingymajigs but was really good to try one out after wanting the big box cali for so long

I got the blue limited edition version of this compressor; it was £30 cheaper than the ordinary black one. More good looking too... ;)

Opinion after a couple of days...
I don't exaggerate the use of compressors; I don't see them as an effect, but something that is always on. You don't notice the Pedal76 that much until you turn it off.
Also - if you push it hard into somewhat overdriven tone, it curls the hairs on your toes in a very pleasant way. Lower ratio and high input, and then drive on high... ❤
If you want more possibilities to tweak the tone: buy an Origin Effects or an Empress. If you want an always-on that is just there, this is a winner. Good price, nice design and no matter how stolen/copied it is from the original UREI, which is now very expensive. Used with the double bass also in "overdrive mode"; low ratio and high input. Sounds fantastic.
