thebrig Posted Tuesday at 18:42 Posted Tuesday at 18:42 (edited) I've had this jazz neck for years, it's been on loads of different bodies and is by far the best neck I've ever played, but I'm now worried that the truss rod might be coming to the end of it's life because it's now pertruding out of the truss rod slot, does it need replacing, and if so, is it costly to do so? Thanks. Edited Tuesday at 18:43 by thebrig Quote
Aidan63 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Is it an American made neck with the Bullet trussrod (1974-82) ? Maybe the adjuster has been changed if so as it isn't bullet shaped Quote

Maybe the adjuster has been changed if so as it isn't bullet shaped It's a Mighty Mite neck which I purchased brand new nearly twenty years ago, I've owned many high-end basses, including American made Fenders, but this neck feels so right in my hands which is why I don't want to replace it, so I was wondering if the truss rod is replaceable? Joe Nation Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Is the nut further out than it used to be? If it suddenly appeared after years of being hidden, then it may well be a broken rod. Or the nut has stripped off the rod. Technically they are replaceable, but remember Leo's original idea was just to bin the neck and get a new one if it needed any major work. You can either drill a hole at the heel and push them out, or take the fingerboard off. Neither is a good option. Quote
