String through short scale strings

Had the same set of TI jazz caflats on my squier vista musicmaster for 18 years and I feel like a change.

 

It's a string through body and the TI flats are a good fit as they have a winding length of  32".

 

Any recommendations for replacement medium scale strings? Preferably something with a bit more tension than the thomastiks. Interested in flat and round wounds.

Any 32inch flats will have more tension than TIs. Generally, the higher the gauge, the higher the tension.

La Bella do a specific Mustang string through set.

They list the full speaking length of the string on their website so you can check before you buy.

I use regular scale Elixirs on my Mustangs, fit fine

Have just fitted a set of LaBella Mustangs on my classic vibe Mustang and they’re perfect. Really nice tension and silky smooth.

I used to use TI jazz flats on my first mustang. When my mustang collection expanded I tried various outher strings and found that I preferred d'addario chromes. I didn't rate the LaBella MUS set as the set I bought had so little top to them straight out of the pack that the tone control on the bass had hardly any effect.
