Woodinblack Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The gigs are still good, I think the rehearsals with my main group that might end up pushing me out of the game! Quote
bassbiscuits Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Prior to the pandemic the band I was with had got quite sniffy about how much we felt we should be getting paid for gigs etc. But when lockdown allowed it, me and a few mates put together a classic rock cover band and did some free gigs primarily to help some struggling local venues. Made me realise how much of it is actually about the human contact, not just money. 3 Quote

It was a great gig, we were buzzing. It was really good to see some people I hadn't seen in a long time, made some new friends and we raised several hundred quid. It was better than a lot of the paid gigs we've done. 3 Quote

Stub Mandrel Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Just had a great rehearsal. We started by regining the structure ofour 'standout' song. Then my Deep Purple/Black Sabbath style slow riff song, and we added a double tempo bridge. Really chuffed thst everyone likes it. Then the backing singer shared something barely audible on his phone and I came up with a line that worked and everyone joined in, but this one is more like Kraftwerk so we're covering a fair range. Then we worked up a song the lead singer had previously recorded as just vicals and acoustic. We are all enjoying the creativity. Quote
